Cannot believe that it is only just over 24 hours until I have the movie in my hands. I thought this day would never get here.

This is a link to really wonderful review of Star Trek XI. Here's a cute quote from his review: "I've said before that I think Chris Pine is a movie star, and watching him work, he seems like he's got the soul of a ridiculous goofball locked in the body of a football hero. He's also the lynchpin that holds the rest of the cast together." Aw, I like that.

It is a good review; and the more I see of Chris, the more I agree with the reviewer. Chris is the lynchpin; the movie worked because of Chris. Also, I love it that the reviewer's 4-year old son is completely obsessed with the movie and Star Trek now. I wouldn't have believed it possible a year ago.

I read a funny post yesterday, in part about the movie coming out: "I'm also excited for the new Star Trek which comes out this tuesday, because I would like to molest Chris Pine. I even watched a movie about wine for him." This seems to be a common syndrome for Pine fans.

Wasn't that awesome of JJ Abrams to give the 4 year old that fabulous birthday present. He seems like such a great guy.

Some of the funniest things I have ever read come from comments on some of the Star Trek boards, like ontd_startrek.

I found some pictures which are apparently from last night - Chris was out partying in West Virginia and a group of girls got to take his picture. It's really good to see him having such fun.

I just took a bit of a break from the BBS. btw, I agree with the review. always have. he's the pivot of the movie. w/o him, it'd have been a lesser product.

EDIT: speaking of kids: my niece is head-over-heels about Pine. she's 9. go figure.

Too bad Chris missed the Star Trek XI dvd party. Almost everyone else was there it looks like except for Chris and Anton. Fun thread at ontd_startrek about the dvd party. I love the comments people make on that site.

Stopping tonight at Best Buy to get the dvd since Amazon let me down and didn't get mine to me before today. It's in the mail. Hrumph!!!!
