Chris Columbus directing the new Superman movie?

Internet rumors come and go (and sometimes pan out to be correct, even when they seem unlikely). It's something to pass the time until concrete news comes along.

Do we have any power to start a stupid rumor? Like Tom Welling will be playing Clark Kent (he won't wear the costume because he wants to be taken seriously as an actor starting with taking over the lead role for Cheaper By the Dozen 3) but Brandon Routh will be playing Superman?

This movie suposed to come out at the end of December of 2012. I have a feeling that the best Superman movie ever will be made and it will be everything that every fanboy ever wanted, critics will love it, non fans will love it. John Williams will redo the theme and it will be amazing. It won't just be a great Superman movie, but just a great movie in general. It will have a bigger weekend than TDK, Avatar and Titanic. I will have to work that weekend and will wait till my day off to go. I will get my ticket, the opening credits will begin and then boom! Jesus comes back, and Armagedon ensues. The Mayan prophecy comes true. I die without seeing the one movie i've waited decades to see. This will be my fate, knowing my luck.
