Chick-fil-A digging themselves a hole

images

I'm for choice. I'm for tolerance. I don't do hate and Chick-fil-A appears to promote hate.

Yeah, I don't remember Brent being this big a bigot.

Apply a name, a label to me if you must, I know it makes you all feel better. I'm not afraid to be called names for these beliefs, heck, Jesus was nailed to the cross because of the things he said.

Comparing yourself to a fictional character from a 2000 year old poorly written novel as a justification for hating an entire group of people who have done nothing but form a healthy and happy relationship with another consenting adult human being is pretty fucking weird and pathetic.

Obviously it isn't, otherwise you wouldn't have a problem with allowing them to make that choice.

I can still have a problem with them making that choice, and they can still make that choice. I have no power to stop anyone from making those choices. I have the freedom to speak out on it, and this being America I NEVER want to lose that freedom to speak out, I love our freedom of speech. God will deal with it all in the end, everyone will have to explain their lives to him, me included. He deemed it a sin, and I follow Gods will above my own.

But you want to have the power to legally restrict them, so obviously you do have a problem with what they choose. Why can't you leave it up to god to judge them? That is, if you have faith that he exists and can judge.

I am always amused by Christians that miss the entire point of Jesus' teachings. Most of the Atheists I know are better Christians than those who label themselves as Christians.

Ouch, I wouldn't want to stand in front of God after saying a thing like that and have to explain myself.

Aww, you think your imaginary friend is going to beat me up, how adorable.

Sell, rent or provide services or deny those services to whomever they want regardless of the reasons.

For starters.
So, among other things, you don't see anything wrong with refusing service to someone because their skin color is different from yours?

"For starters" - that's a very ominous statement.

Yeah, I don't remember Brent being this big a bigot.

*bear

Comparing yourself to Jesus? Wow. Classy.

Did Jesus take a stand against women's rights? In your mind, is that a Christian thing to do?

I've been responding to you without calling you names and you stopped responding to my posts. You were all "I'm done discussing this topic" but then you come back in here to ignore the difficult discussions and make blithe statements that you know are going to antagonize people. You're also only responding to things in ways that try to make you look like a victim or persecuted. It's cowardly, promotes ill-will, and makes it hard to take you seriously.

And if the person you call god does exist, I say bring it. Why wait? He can show up right now because as far as I'm concerned, he has some explaining to do himself.

Just so people are aware that this issue transcends the single issue of gay rights.

Here are the groups that Chick-Fil-A donates money to, and their agendas, which as you can see far exceed just opposing gay rights and extend into many, many different regressive areas:

Focus on the Family
The group supports the teaching of what it considers to be traditional family values. It advocates school sponsored prayer and supports corporal punishment. It strongly opposes LGBT rights, abortion, pornography, legalized gambling, and pre-marital and extramarital sexual activity.

Family Research Council
It advocates against LGBT rights, abortion, divorce, embryonic stem-cell research, the theory that global warming is the result of human activity, and pornography.

FRC is listed as a Hate Group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. The Family Research Council's Senior Researcher for Policy Studies Peter Sprigg was criticized when he, in his official capacity as a fellow of the FRC, stated that gay behavior should be outlawed and that "criminal sanctions against homosexual behavior" should be enforced.

Eagle Forum
Led by noted anti-feminist Phyllis Schlafly, the Eagle Forum is notorious for it's opposition to equal rights for women and it's advocacy for the role of women in society as "full-time homemakers." Eagle Forum is also part of the anti-vaccination movement.

These groups just aren't anti-gay, some of them are anti-woman's rights, anti-vaccine, anti-science, pro-Creationism, and pro-Christian Dominionism. They fight not just against gay rights, but against legalized gambling, pornography, stem cell research, even divorce.

Good for them, thumbs up, glad to see them trying to stand up for what's right :techman:

You are a horrible person. People like you are making me rethink my own belief in God.

Ouch, I wouldn't want to stand in front of God after saying a thing like that and have to explain myself.

Personally, I wouldn't want to be God and have to explain to my loyal followers why I thought genocide and pillaging was so rad back in the Old Testament.

2. We have two accounts of Sodom and Gommorrah that I think, rather than separating and claiming to be contradictory ,make more sense when taken globally.

.

God burned cities and their inhabitants to the ground for gross sexual immorality (obviously not just homosexuality.

Perhaps you could list the Bible verses where God destroys entire cities for obesity?

Hell is a real place, and I just gotta say, it's not a place I wanna go, it's no joke. I'm constantly amazed how many people aren't afraid of it. It's going to be a terrible, terrible place, and it is so easy to avoid. Again, another choice I suppose we must make in life. Put your faith in Jesus, ask him to forgive you for you sins, call out to him and ask him to save you from sin, enjoy the peace that overcomes you and the knowledge that you are on the path to Heaven, following a righteous God, a savior who wants the best for you, Jesus is that way, and the only way. I don't want anyone here to end up in the other place, I beg of you, do this now, this is your chance, your life on this Earth is your chance.

If Heaven is filled with the likes of you, I'd rather go to the other place. At least I'll have better company with all the other sinners from this thread.

I agree with Brent.

And people who deny that people can "choose" or "not to choose" to perform homosexual acts, they forget "situational homosexuality" (prisons, and other times where people of the same sex are isolated) which obviously involved people "choosing".

So...you're comparing *prison rape* to a committed, loving relationship between two adults who have an emotional and heartfelt connection and want to be together and enjoy one another's constant company?

You sad, deluded Muppet of a hominid.

I'm going to back out of this before I say something I'll regret. Something tells me this mess is about to get clanged shut anyways.

Oh, I hope it doesn't get clanged. It's good to see who the bigots of this board are. Makes it easier to avoid them in the future.

So, not bothering to respond to anything else? You're against equal rights for women? I'm not trying to put words into your mouth, I'm just confirming what you said.

Why would someone choose to live in such fear?

Hell is constant torment, pain, suffering the likes you've never experienced before, eternal fire, literally never ending, time will not end, it will go on forever and ever and ever. The horrible thing about it? Those in hell will be able to see up to heaven and know the potential that was lost to them because of their choices.

I want to follow Gods will for my life, he knows what's best for me, and his will is the will I chose to follow, not my own. I pray for all of those that are battling similar decisions and choices, please make the right one, you only have one chance right now, and it's so easy.

Still waiting on that evidence.
