Cheesiest lines?

kitsune

Captain
I watched Encounter at Farpoint earlier and heard this:

Helmsman: Something strange on the detector circuit!

Oh, please don't get so technical on me!

Then there's Wesley's famous line: We're with Starfleet. We don't lie.

What are your cheesiest lines?

^ My thoughts exactly. I'd just love to find a way of working that into a converation one day.

"When I was in my early twenties on a trip to East Africa, I saw a gazelle giving birth...."

Anytime Troi said "I feel ....." The worst would be in Where No One Has Gone Before.
"It feels quite wonderful."

Also Uhura's "I'm frightened."

Don't forget the most cringeworthy line in ST history. Wesley: "I'm with Starfleet. We don't lie." -- RR

That Wesley line was in one of the earliest episodes of Trek I watched and around the time I started to become a fan. As a kid that line really resonated with me. I wanted to be Wesley and a part of that Federation. Don't hold the innocent naivity of children against them. ;)

The worst offender of all-time:
"You're astronauts... on some sort of star trek?"

Runners-up:
Pretty much every line Data said in "Generations" and "Insurrection". Boobs firmming up, Mr. Tricorder, flotation device, oh shit, lock and load, saddle up...

Good, God. Wesely only wishes he were that obnoxious.

I so concur. That line totally fits that character. Now if Riker said it, then yeah, stupid. But it is right coming from young Mr. Crusher.

I would like to nominate from movie V the shot on the bridge where each character takes a turn saying heaven in his native tongue:
SYBOK: Sha Ka Ree.
KORRD: Qui'Tu.
CAITHLIN: Vorta Vor.
TALBOT: Eden.

It all looks so harmless as I read it in print, but on screen, it is the corniest thing EVAH as each one intones it all serious like.
