Cheesy, ok. But also pretty in an Erte kind of way. Especially with the transporter oil-on-water design behind them. The guy definitely has the late-60s/Namath "dry look." Really a nice picture, actually.

THAT was the design of the Tellarites! It was part of their swine-like appearance; deep set eyes...

I thought for a long time their eyes were just supposed to be entirely black, that the irises were so large they covered the entire exposed surface of the globe.

I was a little disappointed when I realized the eyes were just supposed to be recessed.
