Charlie Jade

^^^Something about the phrasing gave me the impression that his betaverse coworkers were dead. If he knew they went to gammaverse would he be so sure it was impossible they were alive?

And is betaverse not our universe?

The way I saw it was that the old guy and his friends were researchers on the original project, and his friends successfully escaped to gamma while he was captured. He was tortured (lost an eye) and came to believe that his friends were killed.

Another inquiry I have, is about Vexcor itself. Assuming their home universe is Alpha, how did they explain their subsequent presence in Beta and (presumably) Gamma? Did Vexcor have cover stories ready to release to the publics of the latter two universes? What does the public - in Beta and Gamma - think that Vexcor does?

(I'm assuming that inhabitants of Alphaverse have known for years about Vexcor, know exactly what it is, and are not particularly surprised)

scifipedia :
In the series Charlie Jade, the story is set in the Multiverse - that's the name Brion Boxer gave to the layered system of three (or more) parallel universes he discovered decades ago. When his Vexcor Technologies began planning intradimensional business opportunities, the company "rebranded" each universe, in the infamous Vexcor Krogg Memo #221. While only Vexcor employees use the terminology, the Multiverse is currently known to Vexcor with the following universes: * Alphaverse * Betaverse * Gammaverse

How did you get that link? ScifiPedia doesn't appear to be a...pedia.

The Lubinski character seems interesting . . . we've seen conspiracy theorists in all sorts of shows, but he doesn't seem like the typical crazy paranoid kind of guy

From what I can recall-I watched nearly half the episodes last year, so memory's a bit fuzzy, the general publics in all 3 verses are not aware of the Mulitiverse-Jade says in the opening narration, that 'they' lied when 'they' said there were no alternate universes. Charlie, resident of Alpha definitely didn't know, he assumed the ghost images he continually saw were hallucinations and was taking meds obtained thru the dubious source (the woman in the apt) we saw in ep 1, to deal with them. The little girl who met him in the desert after he crossed over spoke of ghost people, so people in Beta can experience the glimpses of the other verses as Jade does.

Vexcor is a huge multinational conglomerate in Alpha, and it seems they have the resources to keep the truth under wraps there and in the other 2. And not everyone can cross from one to the other, as they have been forced to bring in the company founder's psychopathic son to travel to Beta to further investigate the what may have happened at the facility in Beta.

Hmm. That seems odd: If only a few people can travel from one universe to another, why would Vexcor build such an elaborate mechanism that *depends* on such travel?

I was just looking at scifi.com, apparently the rest of the episodes have been relegated to Mon/Tue at 3AM!:wtf:

Not according to my DVR, it's not. The show isn't *anywhere* on the schedule for at least a week. At the time and date you mentioned, they're showing The Outer Limits.

SciFi's own schedule, OTOH, does show Charlie Jade at that time. What the fuck is going on?

FWIW it does show up on my DVR.

What system are you on? (Cable, satellite, etc.)

3 AM already? After giving Flash Gordon way too long to get better, I decided that I'm not going to waste my time on garbage anymore. If they did move it, what replaced it?

Saw the first ep, it was meh but looked like some potential.

Missed 2nd ep because of work.

Scifi pulled it already? Wha?

Ratings that bad?

Yeah, apparently they must have to finish out the contract for the show. But it was pretty obvious that they really didn't care about the show that much. The only places I ever saw anykind of ads or anything was on Sci-Fi itself. I don't think it even got a single mention on any of the entertainment/TV websites or in TV Guide.

Whenever I see this thead I think of Kegek. Where the hell is this guy? I miss him. :(
