Characters you've changed your mind about

Stamets for sure. Struck me as a cranky, irate, unlikable arrogant nerd in the first two episodes he was in.
I called him "the Rodney McKay of Star Trek" back then. Now, he's all cuddly by comparison. :ack: Star Trek needed a Rodney McKay.

Burnham - I have gone from 'let's see' to 'if she dies I won't care'
Pretty much exactly where I am, only I was there by the third episode, and that's sad. I wanted to like her. The descriptions we got before the premiere held so much promise. I wanted to care. I ended up caring far more for both of her ill-fated captains than her, though.

Is David Hewlett available?

Actually, you know who Stamets reminds me of...Rafael Barba, the assistant DA from Law & Order: SVU. They sound AND act alike (and even kind of look alike, at least except for the hair). You could almost switch the actors...

Holy shit. You're right.

^ I'd love to see what Trek could do with Raul Esparza (who plays Barba).

Fun fact: There are at least four Law & Order vets on DSC:

- Anthony Rapp was on SVU twice
- James Frain was on SVU once
- SonequaMG was on Criminal Intent once
- Terry Serpico (Admiral Anderson) was a frequent guest star in the L&Overse, playing MANY different roles
