Characters you enjoy more in novel form

Hi All,

Every once in a while I hear people say that the Voyager novelverse novels were their favorite but that they like the show a lot less. This got me thinking about which characters I think come off better in the novels than they do the shows/movies.

The first that comes to mind is Troi. In Next Gen it seemed to me that her powers were often weakened or unhelpful, but in the Titan novels I found the use of her character and powers to be great.

What characters or series worked better in novels for all of you?

Pretty much all of the "second teir" characters work better in the novels...just because they get more "screen time"...but it of course does depend on the author.

Chakotay was such a better character in the relaunch novels than he ever was on the show.

I much preferred the early DS9 novels to the actual show.
