Change your favorite series to be like the others.

Step one: Choose your favorite series.
Step two: Change it in a way or choose one thing that would have made it more like each of the other four - five if you count TAS. (I'm going for making it better, but you could of course worsen it also.)

I'll go first:
Favorite: TNG
TOS: the space battles were more realistic with ships being farther apart.
TAS: more non-humanoids (I.e. Aurellians, Nasat, Philogians)
DS9: fixed the Ferengi - until they started doing the comedies.
VOY: did marvelous things with make-up and effects.
ENT: the short serializations of the fourth season may have been great on TNG - some stories should be told in one ep but others need 3.

Whut? I don't see the obvious changes, and where the heck is TNG?

T'Girl's Favorite: TOS

TAS: early holodeck, more aliens, more Harry Mudd.
TNG: heavier on the ensemble cast
DS9: hanging out in a bar, with the Ferengi , a blending of Star Trek and Cheers
VOY: couple of Hispanic main characters (personal like), civilians as part of ship's regular company
ENT: dealing with language problems with aliens

Whut? I don't see the obvious changes, and where the heck is TNG?
TNG was his favorite, the one he was grafting other series ideas onto. (read the premise)

:)

Pauln6 Favourite: TOS

Changes imported:

TAS - female security guards
TNG - more ensemble crew
DS9 - cool non-humanoid aliens
VOY - borg
ENT - more Andorians and Orions!

?

My favourite series is TNG. I will change it to be like Voyager by making it more dull and plodding?

It's late and this is snarkier than usual for me.

TOS.
Stop taking actual sci fi stories submitted by sci fi writers, and hire a few writers to keep around and churn out an episode per week because they have to, to make money for Paramount/Sony/whomever.

Also, eliminate stress among crewmembers to make the show less dynamic.

Change command from green to red and vice versa. Then change the green to actual gold that photographs gold.

Give Kirk a certain, defining drink that he always has to have.

Give Uhura breast augmentation. (NO offense to NN, just noting that later space babes were hyperendowed or -emphasized in that department.)

Make the music way, way more boring and less melodic.

Add an alien/android with a cute/goofy voice (not accent - TOS has that covered).

It doesn't seem that anyone, including the OP understands the concept of this thread.

I think it means we take our favorite series (DS9) and change the other series to be more like it?

Sooo

TNG: I wouldn't want it changed
VOY: More ensemble characters, more ambiguity, less prime directive crap, more serialization.
ENT: More.........serialized and less crappy

TOS, in one episode the ship's doctor (McCoy), make the ship's engineer (Scotty) sing; "I am the very model of a modern Major-General, I've information vegetable, animal, and mineral, I know the kings of England ... "

.

.

My favourite series is DS9.

To paraphrase Wil Wheaton, DS9 is made from concentrated Awesome that was quarried out of the deepest heart of Mount Awesome, at the center of Awesome Island.

I will not dilute its awesomeness by adding stuff from the other four series (which I love, too, but not nearly as much).

Favorite - DS9.

More like....

TOS - no serialization
TNG - pompous, preachy, holier-than-thou
VOY - an insane captain
ENT - writers who have no idea what they're doing for half the series

Come on, fellas...

T'Girl and Pauln6 got the idea well enough. Elias Vaughn too.

Hmm...

I'll take TAS, improved with:

- the longer format of TOS
- the morally alien character of Worf, or somebody like him, courtesy of TNG
- the way the main characters were tossed like feathers by the gales of history in DS9
- the feel of the crew as a family (no matter how dysfunctional), as per VOY
- the boosting of the visual illusions to the high production standards of ENT

plus a generous helping of bold artistic vision, steering much farther away from photorealism than Filmation dared - this might be learned from the newest movie?

Timo Saloniemi

TNG

Voyager- Naomi saved the day twice a season, including the season Sam was pregnant with her.

DS9- Odo keeps asking the crew Data-like questions.

ENT- Mayweather is blind.

Favorite: DS9
would add from:

TOS: mini-skirts
TAS: more 'alien' alien species, the type whose culture take more than 10 seconds to figure out.
TNG: Ensign Ro so she and Kira could try to 'out-badass' each other on a weekly basis.
VOYAGER: face-tattoos and a smartassed Vulcan
ENTERPRISE: Porthos' descendant running around Quark's, stealing cheese

^ That's pretty good. Mini-skirts in modern Trek would disturb me. Much as a sleeveless Mirror Picard would...though Stewart did have ridiculous strong arms - remember him climbing up Engineering in FC?

VOY

TOS: Use TOS unifroms.
TNG: Add Data, lose Harry Kim.
DS9: Add Jadzia, lose Chakotay, make her second in command. Add Quark, lose Neelix.
ENT: Add Hoshi Sato as the EMH's assistant.

ENTERPRISE

Surprisingly mostly happy, cast wise, set designs, premise, but it just needed...

TOS - "Space, the Final Frontier..." monologue spoken in a more traditional sounding title sequence.

TNG - Ron Jones a regular contributor to the incidental scores.

DS9 - Dominion War story arc, building from the end of Season 2, transferred to the Romulans obviously.

VOY - er, yes... *scratches head* seven seasons like they had!

B5 - always changing title sequences. Different opening music for each year of the show. Gives it a breath of fresh air. The buzz surrounding "In a Mirror, Darkly" more or less proved that would've worked.
