Really depends on how many characters are visible in the scene in DAZ. I've kept the resolution on the outfits within reason and most of the set is all geometry and lighting that way. Just a couple of characters and it's about 20 minutes. A whole bunch and we're up to an hour or more.
I'm also running this on a 4 or 5 year old graphics card at this point as well. So that's eating into the render times
Really nice work, you've got your own unique style which is really nice.![]()
This all looks really wonderful. I used Truespace as well as well as Caligari back in my Amiga days. I eventually moved onto Carrara but never got the hang of Blender despite its power. I keep promising myself that I'll tackle Blender someday as it could really be an asset in the type of work I do. Unfortunately, no matter how much I've tried I get stuck then lose interest.
Enough of me though. I really like the whole Phase II approach. The empty bridge looks a bit bland but definitely comes to life once it's populated with characters. Speaking of which, I also like the different types of characters you've put in not to mention that their poses all look very natural. Great work and thank you for sharing.
I remember trying to get a handle on Caligari towards the end of my classes at Algonquin Animation. I never got a handle on it, and my employment history has thus far diverted me away from ever following up with successor-software tech properly...I used Truespace as well as well as Caligari back in my Amiga days.
Huh...how did I not know about this? I'm downloading Blender for Artists now to try it out for myself. Thank you for mentioning this!Anyway, I jumped into Blender with Blender For Artists 2 which works ALOT like Truespace. There are some nice tutorials out there.
