Chakotay.. please don't attack me

Thanks for the links at least now I have an idea what people are talking about when it comes to Beltran.

UM.

That was entirely supportive and diplomatic and positive.

You could almost see him not saying things, but how well could he be censoring himself?

Gosh.

The way Rob speaks is so different form Chakotay, it's almost a different accent than choices in pause and intonation.

Only the first one posted was negative, so over the top kind of wondered if he was just messing around?

The second two didn't have anything negative in them.

I though his "Jeri Ryan" impersonation was just terrible.

After seeing how well she did Picardo, there's no doubt she could do a definitive Bob Beltran.

I don't think he's been all that negative in recent years. This was all going down a good while before Voyager ended, not really afterward.

Agree.

When I met him a few years ago he didn`t bash Voyager.
He was only critical about some things.
He had high expection for the last episodes. He also said , when he got the script of Endgame, he went to Jery and said- this is what we are going out? (in my words- I can`t remember his words exactly- and please excuse my bad english)

Oh, yeah. If there's one thing I do agree with him on, it's his take on "Endgame."

considering how bad voyager could get, you can't blame him for not being happy.

LMAO, when did this become a joke?

Since Chakotay was somewhat cheated as a character, do you think the 7 thing was supposed to enhance both characters.

What was your take on C/7? Was the "New Earth" tension with J/C better?

Personally, I think the 7 thing was supposed to enhance the characters, but the problem was they didn't have enough "time."

While C/7 happened , I think J/C SHOULD have happened.

I am in favor of C/7 (I'll write my treatise on this tomorrow), J/C (obviously there, not even subtext) and J/7 which I think is easily the most interesting.

Not sure what that says about me.. :guffaw:

I had a huge crush on Chakotay during my first viewing of Voy (this was a loooong time ago) and I kept waiting for C/J to happen. But watching Voy again, I'm not feeling it. The stilted way he delivers his lines bugs me. It's not just that he's phoning it in (in the later seasons), it's like he's having trouble enunciating the lines. Plus, it didn't help that he fell victim to the "Riker spread."

I remember Beltran slamming Voy and scifi pretty hard a few years back. While I might have sympathized with him because his character really was underused, he came off as petulant and spiteful. And there was some sort of retaliatory whine from Mulgrew as well. That's how I remember it anyway.

I do like the Chakotay character, but I think they should have actually developed a backstory for his tribe. As it was, it was sort of a Native American cliche stew. Pretty much everything you'd associate them was tossed in there - vision quest, dream catcher, hallucinogenics, animal guide, ancestor worship, tribal tattoo, respect for nature, etc.

"Chakotay... please don't attack me."

I keep reading this as someone asking Chakotay not to hit them and frankly it scares me.

Which is probably as effective as when Tuvix asked Janeway to please not kill him.

"Please" doesn't do a lot for these people.

Don't attack me-- I think this was said in 'Unforgettable' near the end of Season 4. Kellin was confessing her previous interactions and love affair weth Chakotay. What it took to shake the mans wheels.
