Chakotay and Janeway romance

Unless things got more complex after the camera retired, the other Borg just watched him lay into Riely, which means that he was watching himself through their eyes go for it... But they probably touched themselves a little over the pants? And he definitely felt how excited they were at watching him be so good at sex.

So you are saying he will be recording his 7 sessions and making them into holoprograms and letting certain select crewmates know where to find them?

To be fair, Seven seemed to respect Chakotay's religion in the Omega Directive when by her own admission she was seeking out her own spiritual experience. Seven may be a bitch at times, but she isn't cruel for it's own sake.

Considering her religion is about devastating billions of people in search of perfection she really can't bitch about anyone else's beliefs.

He creates miniature healing collective.

7 people link minds.

They all see through each others eyes.

Feel through each others skin and get swept away in each others passion.

They can't snub him forever.

Besides, how complex is Neelix's Borg Architecture that he couldn't supply a similar service?

No, I'm proving how resolved and god damned strong they must have been to consistently abstain from having a good time.

Icheb had Borg aids.

And he was still a virgin after two seasons despite have a WMD between his legs.

(Regular people are just carriers, only unfreeed Borg die from Borg aids.)

After they get back to earth and some super science (or the Caeliar) removes all the nanoprobes and implants anyone ever got stuck with someone is going to say, "hey you know what we could have done when we were hooked up?" And everyone is going be GODDAMMIT!!!! Because Starfleet had trained them out of impure un-PC thoughts and it had never occurred to them.

Neelix is the Morale officer... Who was the Amoral Officer?

The person wandering about with a spritzer making sure that nothing went too far.

Okay I am now going to take time out from my very important posting frenzy in the Star Trek XI+ forum to explain to you all why Chakotay/7 works. For personal background in case anyone hasn't noticed I have always been J/7 and I have never been a Chakotay fan (other than saying he's good to look at). So I should be puking over C/7.

Chakotay is perfect for 7. Not perfect for the long term but perfect for where she is right now. He's kind, he's thoughtful, he's attracted to strong women and he will never hurt her. She is deeply wounded and unsure of herself as far as relationships and Chakotay has the patience, empathy and natural desire to dote on her that she needs. She has spent the majority of her life as one unit among billions with personal value having no reality. Chakotay will make her feel special, he will value her and relate personally to her as an individual and he's emotionally smart enough to understand that treating her that way is not a common thing but a part of her healing and growth.

Unlike other male suitors Chakotay is not one for ego. 7 will be free from him reacting personally to her coldness and misunderstandings. He is safe and he is easy to be in a relationship with compared to just about anyone else. He is not going to make demands on 7, rather he will be holding out his hand and waiting for her to take it.

Yes 7 had Auxum in Unimatrix Zero but that may seem more like a dream, a dream time within her enslavement. That was practice for having feelings as an individual, not practice for having a relationship in a real world.

What does Chakotay get out of it? As we know strong women are his thing, but this time he gets to be the strong man as well because 7 needs him. She's kick ass but she's vulnerable. He can give more to her than Seska ever needed or wanted. She may not show her appreciation but as she grows more comfortable in being in a relationship I think Chakotay will see her blooming and feel that he is appreciated. It will be an important relationship for both of them and while it will not last (and doesn't in the books) they will part with no animosity and with a gratitude for the time they spent together.

Ok...that was a good argument for C/7. :bolian:

But I still don't like it!

That's the term I usually use

But when I do someone always brings up Auxum because they get stuck on who came first.

You've made the point just a few times before! While I don't completely agree with it, you definitely articulate the argument well and make some good points. My main beef with the Seven/Chakotay relationship is they just threw it at us with no buildup whatsoever and expected us to find it believable. The Paris/Torres relationship works because hey... it was a bumpy road with a lot of foreshadowing and build up to it.

Suddenly throwing it in at the end of Season 7 with no buildup is the main reason I don't like it. In addition to my personal preference of Janeway ending up with Chakotay.

We agree an awful lot despite the fact I'm often critical of Janeway's decisions and you're an avid fan! :p

Don't get me wrong, Paris/Torres are not an obvious match. But we see the buildup to it on screen and can see that "Hey, they made that work despite it all."

Chakotay and Seven? Well we get one episode of Seven with a holo Chakotay(who is more life like than the real one) and that's about it before they're lovey dovey.

Chakotay and Janeway? They do have a past to build upon. Resolutions hinted enough at that, though Scorpion did seem that their friendship may be more platonic. Though... being the Janeway critic I am... one disagreement... "Well I guess I am alone." End of romance. ;)

Scorpion to me "hinted" that if he wasn't an inveterate yes-man to her every flight of fancy, then Chuckles had better learn how to breath in a hard vacuum.

"I want you to put this gun in your mouth an pull the trigger."

"Okay, I'll do it... but I think you're making a fatal mistake"

"Well I guess I am alone."

Dang, Janeway is harsh if his only objection is to say it might be a bad idea, instead of he won't do it. :p

Thing is she reprogrammed Michael Sullivan to..

Make him more provocative.
Give him a more complicated personality.
More outspoken, more confident, not so reserved,

And yet Chakotay could never do this. He hid behind her being his Captain as an excuse but really he is just too wimpy. Had he challenged her more and intrigued her with being a bit of a bitch she might have found him less easy to resist. He comes across as very easy to resist even though there's an attraction, because he makes it easy.

If Chakotay had honoured Janeway's deal instead of Murdering how many dozen Borg, would they have all parted as friends on excellent terms, or was the Borg's betrayal inevitable?

Can you really call it a betrayal?

If someone killed 99 percent of my crew when they swore that they only wanted to be friends, they'd be idiots to eat any food I prepared for them.

Chakotay forced the Borg's hand.
