They managed to get Young Spock's bangs wrong too in "Q&A".I don't understand how a professional hair stylist/wig maker can misunderstand a person's hairline so badly.
I'm not sure about the face itself, but the hairline definitely has some CG alterations. When Spiner turns his head, the hairline moves out-of-sync with his face like a botched Snapchat filter.I don't think that's CGI. It looks to me like a full-face prosthetic mask hiding Spiner's wrinkles. If it were CGI, it wouldn't look so puffy and would be a better fit to the younger Spiner's facial proportions.
Yeah, I see what you mean. I had a slo-mo look and in the very first moments (when he is still in profile) the hairline looks much closer to where it should be. Looks like the wig-wrangler did their job right after all, but someone decided it needed to be altered...and then did a poor job of it.but the hairline definitely has some CG alterations. Am I the only one paying attention? Data was blown up in Star Trek X, that's B-4.
Data looks more like present day Steven Seagal without the goatee.

Aw snap! You got me @Christopher , I should know by now the editing of trailers is canon and never misleading.![]()
They screwed up Spock's hairline in the latest short trek as well.
I didn’t know that androids were prone to anaphylaxis.
Yeah, it’s not a dream, for some reason Picard and B4 are standing in the middle of the vineyard in 2399 wearing uniforms that haven’t been in use for nearly 30 years.
Maybe Picard misses the old days and forces B4 to dress up as Data so they can play pretend Starfleet.
Plus the Wig. THey can do CGI hair way better these days, so it's pretty clear Data has a new wig in that shot (again not at all surprising).I don't think that's CGI.
