After watching WALL-E today at my local theatre, I got to thinking, they could make a really good Trek movie with only using CGI. I mean, why not? Star Wars did it with the clone wars, and the CGI is pretty amazing these days, at least when it comes to things other then people or aliens. If they made a TOS CGI movie, I think I'd go see it. If Trek XI is successful, the voices of the new actors could portray the characters or if they really wanted to, they could have some original cast members play their anime counter-parts and the new actors could portray the ones who passed on.
I know people here have brought this up before, but after seeing some CGI films (WALL-E, TMNT) I never realized the CGI was as good as it was.
So what do you think? Should a CGI Star Trek movie be made within time? Or another thing I think would be cool is a CGI animated Star Trek cartoon on Saturday mornings
