Centauri slugs?

EJA

Fleet Captain
Where the heck did Nero get the Centauri slugs? They're definitely not standard issue for a mining ship.

Could Nero have stolen them from Rura Penthe during his escape? Maybe the Klingons were about to use them on him when the Narada came back online in orbit?

I really think its a moot point. He had 25 years to go lots of places and collect all kinds of shit. What i want to know is why he didnt take a day to call a plumber and drain all that blasted water out of his ship. :rommie:

^Nero was incarcerated inside a Klingon prison for 25 years, so he couldn't have gotten the slugs from their home planet.

I thought he got them from the Klingons I swear in one of the deleted or planned scenes on Pente he was tortured with them.

My guess? They were from Rura Penthe or somehow got aboard and infested parts of the Narada before the prison escape. Nero either already knew what they were and what they were capable of...or did a computer library search to find out.

Most animals, be they rats, tribbles or beagles are not "standard" issue for any type of ship. Some are stowaways. Others pets. Why worry where the slugs came from? You the health inspector or something? ;)

Federation Health and Safety Inspector #47.

May I take a look at your food replicators?

Oy, have you tried to price one yourself? If you think plumbers charge an arm and a leg for a house call, imagine how much they charge out in space! ;)

Hey, somebody who's read the comics, please answer me this:

What the heck is all that water doing in the torture chamber???

Inquiring minds want to know.

Yep. The writers had said it was intended the slugs were used by the Klingons to torture prisoners, and the creatures would eat themselves back out of the host. Presumably the ugly scars on the back of Nero's skull were the result of a slug breaking free. With Pike, his slug invader crippled him before it was removed.

What the heck is all that water doing in the torture chamber???

I assumed it was ballast.
