Cell Phones

I'm sure someone brought this up in the past, but eh. I'm just wondering if any cell phone manufacturers are considering making a really accurate TOS cell phone. The technology is here to do it exactly right. With flip top phones no longer needing protruding antennae, and the whole voice dial / speaker phone thing, it would be a Trek fans wet dream and the ultimate in Trek projections coming true.

Granted, people would probably like to have buttons to dial numbers and so on, so why not make it a bluetooth accessory?

It seems to me that not only could it be done just as easily as most phones, it would be really fricking cool to have a 100% accurate communicator haning off my belt that actually works. I mean, since I'll never have a working phaser... ;-)

I have not seen that at auction for a long time.
Sonamobile was supposed to have produced one, but it never came to pass.

My God, that looks like crap. No kidding, the two buttons on the side. The big STAR TREK COMMUNICATOR thing plastered on it. The shape is only approximate. Jeez, it's not that tough to make the casing accurate. Playmates can do it for a toy, why can't a cell phone company do it?

Not only is it goofy looking, its description was apparently written by someone pretending to be a fan of the series. Guess he thought "Ohura" is the Irish switchboard operator. The "social worker" could be a clever reference to Edith Keeler, however. ;)

For the next generation, the iPhone IS a PADD communicator with the LCARS interface.

/ringtones are fine, but I'm not ready to mod the interface of mine. I do have the files tho. :)
