My first "con" was held at a TravelLodge outside JFK airport in 1983.

ON EDIT: My second "con" (so far anway) is when I gave a guy who used to post on this board $400 as a downpayment on a scratchbuilt model of the Galileo 7 which ~1.5 years later work still hasn't even started on. And when I stated so publicly, he accused me of trying to kill him by "causing him stress" (presumably by demonizing me he's trying to justify not carrying through). What does this have to do with Alec Peters? I guess I can appreciate why some people are SO angry with that guy; I think part of it is anger and embarrassment with yourself, that is, knowing that he was ALWAYS full of sh*t, only it took you too long to realize it.

I'm sure he will have a Hallway Panel somewhere at SDCC this weekend............Maybe Bawden will show up with some Nattie Light and Mountain Dew too!

Oh let him do a con. Will presumably follow onto the success of the (bankrupt) prop auction business and the (failed) movie and the (closed) LA studio.

It's something only the dwindling congregation of Axafaithful will respond to anyway. Alec's equivalent of passing the collection plate.

No doubt the con will be promoted as the best con in the history of cons, and will be a rousing success raising billions of ducats to go to the production of the best 30 minutes of Star Trek ever.

His Most Precious might even create his own currency for the True Believers to pay him for it. Available only through the Donor Station, each unit will cost many times more than its worth. And the masses* will pay and pay.

*Approximately 14 people at this point. :techman:

Now that you bring it up, I was involved in making event tokens for places where beer sales were illegal but it was legal to purchase tokens and trade tokens for beer. Money is a funny concept, you can't sell paramount owned recreations but tokens have zero value, have nothing to do with Paramount but could be exchanged to enter events and at that point there is zero exchange of legal currency.

That all sounds problematic to me. Do they only sell tokens to adults of legal drinking age? Do they have a liquor license? Are they legally responsible for drunks? What legal recourse does a token holder have if they are refused beer or entry? I wonder if they thought they were getting around the law, or they actually have a lawyer telling them all that is legal.

Is that anything like exchanging credits for beer?

« Protecting the rights of the actors involved … is a laughably hypocritical notion coming from Alec, [who] used Tony Todd‘s name and likeness for months knowing full well that he had dropped out of the production. » — Terry McIntosh

Alec Peters truly is the gift that keeps on giving :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw:

Wasn't he going to sue anyone who leaked the Axanar movie script, and then didn't? If he doesn't do something if/when Terry posts the bloopers after making a second threat, it won't look good.

I guess Alec enjoys gap year style living... for what... two decades now?

"Fall into the gap!"

This guy is coo coo for Coco Puffs. Why can't he just stop trying to piss CBS off? It's no water off our backs, he's the one who'll get the double whammy. We've already taken a beating because of him, via the fan productions.

If he's as much of a hot shit as he thinks he is, let's see him crowd-fund an original idea. Lest he also wants to piss off Disney and Lucas and do a Star Wars project next (no, I'm seriously not rulling that out at this point!).
