Any of us that work in the Star Trek Universe (Fan Film Division) needs to understand that our very own effort is not owned by us.

Um - that's what 'legally unenforceable by Peters" means.
Just Backing up your comment. Peters normally causes me to go into fits of belly laughter every time he threatens to sue some one for stealing bits of his creation.
(Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer by training, don't even play one on TV.
From everything I've researched, one could do a refilming of Prelude word for word, recreate the VFX shots, green screening and there isn't a darn thing Alex could do about it. CBS/Paramount if they felt like it but that's it.

Yep. AP does not magically own that stuff. About the only thing he *(might)* have a claim to is anything originally created, such as a character or a weapon or a class of ship. Except most if not all of those are clearly derivative of the Trek IP. He'd have a hard time claiming ownership in a ship which just has its nacelles angled a little differently, or an admiral in Starfleet (which is a part of the Trek IP) who is wearing the same uni or one that is extremely similar, talking about the same things and handling the same issues but just has a different name.

Here's a kicker, LFIM is now claiming that the lawsuit gave him big Hollywood "cred".
Yep - his "Hollywood Cred" is sooo large - all but one the actual Hollywood actors he had in "Prelude To Axanar" are either bailing due to the 'hit' it's given their career; or on advice of legal counsel. :guffaw:

Alec peters probably has similar "Hollywood cred" to the 1950ies era B-movie producer/director Ed Wood. The main difference though is Ed Wood actually produced/finished more than a single project.:rommie:

Jonathan Lane does mention in that blog post on FFF that there are two complete scripts for the new Axanar 15-minute films so maybe filming will start soon.

That's what Axacon 2018 is, a bait and switch, guess what since we have 12 of you here for the greatest Con ever, why not film the movie. I imagine the movie with mostly Garth pontificating about being the only one left to save Federation yadda yadda gratuitous sex scene yadda yadda Garth is Great. Scene.

There is no money and even Alec has said we won't see them until next year.
