Are we sure it wasn't a chair sold at auction by Propworx to Axanar for $2,000?It was a $20 folding chair. The other $1,980 was for shipping and handling.![]()

"12.000+ faithful donors..."
The "Remember Me" Inflation.
From the set photos they've shown, they have two. An authentic reproduced TOS captain's chair, and a more modern/updated (and unfinished) version for the USS Ares. The chair was bothering me when I saw it on the list because I didn't remember seeing a Captain's chair in the flick. The other thing, there are several outsourced studio services listed on the $130,000 + dollar statement and I'm not sure they show up in the credits.
While working double shifts I don't have the time to tract them all down and match them up and it probably has little bearing on the lawsuit anyway.
I believe you meant "Brexit" instead of "Bretix", who could be a distant cousin of Asterix.I just posted a small book (757 words) in reply to the thread: News Axanar Lawyers: It’s A Mockumentary. I'm not going to cross-posted it here. Here's the link: http://www.trekbbs.com/threads/axanar-lawyers-it’s-a-mockumentary.285125/
Feel free to tell me where I went wrong.
Nice use of a comma there, @muCephi . Do you tell me I should have inserted an "of"? Or do you call it "transformative"?Hm. Twelve thousand, plus the faithful donors. Moebius statistics, worth the one sided paper they are written on and offering both sides in the same words. What gems from Axanar.
Yep.A random thought occurred to me this morning. The general defence being taken over the money situation seems to be that if the money goes into the Axanar production budget, then there's no financial benefit. Its going towards the production of Axanar and not lining anyone's pockets.
Lets also take the assertion at face value that Axanar was in the strictest sense a fan film (nonsense, but lets go with it).
Now to me, the core of a fan film, is that its a hobby. A labour of love. And the essence of a hobby is that I invest my time and money into something I enjoy.
So that being said, doesn't any money at all going into the Axanar budget, whether Kickstarter, direct donations, or a passing kindly millionaire, represent CBS's stated case of direct financial benefit? Alec's not had to pay for his fan film. Someone else has. He's enjoyed someone else paying for his hobby. Therefore shouldn't the "its all gone towards Axanar" defence fall apart?

There's only one word for that...huh?"But just because Alec MADE money does not mean the studios LOST money."
Mr Lane is clearly the mate who you shouldn't share secrets with because he can't help but blab them everywhere.
Want some toast? There's a push on FB to reject the "Panel of Experts" filtered explanation of the tax-ready financials, in favor of immediately seeing the financials themselves. Backed by "where's the money?".
Did someone say "toast"?
