Need to change that to "file bankruptcy". :techman:

I wonder how many actual supporters Alec has left at this point not counting people who work for him like RMB and Jonathan Lane. I'd be shocked if there were more than 10 or 20.
Tens of dozens!

Seriously - he has

PreDiana

Prime Diana

nuDiana

Jonathan "Diana" Lane

Reece "Princess Di" Watkins

Charles "follows nuDiana on Facebook" Brillo

Soulcrushed RMB

Mike "Please don't call this number again and beg for me to help you for free, Alec" Bawden.

An army of sockpuppets.

Is there any possibility that we are only being lead to believe Peters ripped through all that money without creating a single thing after Prelude.
We have seen a picture of the building, people have been in it, a monthly number has been thrown out but is it real? I've known people to rent/lease a section of an open bay before. If it's a down market you might even have full use of it until another renter moves in. Did he blow $400 grand or only a hundred grand on a building?
He doesn't sound like a good record keeper, his own numbers have a wild range. He is either flat broke or sitting on the plus side of a million dollars. Sounds like most folks here wouldn't question a financial statement showing he was flat broke, it would even help L&L's case so I'd assume the recipients he's claimed to dole out the funds to will probably never get audited.
Is he really that incompetent with money or has it stashed it away?

Kevin Trudeau, the FTC's longtime arch-nemesis who is now serving a 10-year federal prison sentence.

For those unfamiliar with the story, Trudeau spent years producing and appearing in infomercials designed to sell bogus cures to people on subjects ranging from curing cancer to getting out of debt. He was the subject of numerous FTC orders, which he largely disregarded, claiming he was the victim of a government conspiracy to silence him and his followers. Here's just one highlight of Trudeau's shenanigans, according to a 2010 opinion from the Seventh Circuit in Chicago:

Trudeau actually beat the contempt conviction in that case, but he was quickly cited again for failing to obey a 2004 FTC settlement, which led to his present incarceration. The Seventh Circuit upheld that conviction earlier this year.

Incidentally, Trudeau's lawyers are Winston & Strawn. Sound familiar?
Whoa. Now that IS a bit of 'interesting'

Why us everyone taking Alec at his word that he paid anything back? Again, show us the cancelled checks and/or the bank statements.
Exactly.
No matter who anyone wants to believe, and no matter who 'hates' whom, the statements in this case from the defense have changed, and those statements very often pose perfect and direct contradictions to themselves.

Statements from the defense have not been as constant and unyielding as steel or diamond. They have been ........... slippery.
Exactly.

Here's a new and interesting thing:
Slippery.

First, for this posting point, there is the prop sale advertised using the production donor list.

Which led to defendant response of personal donations from the sale to the production. ($20K - $35K - $40K - all the profits from the sale) Right?

So there's that.

Slippery

Then evvveerrryyywwhhheeeerrre (Mr. Bawden, the defendant, Mr. Lane) repeating defendant put in almost $150K to the production.

Which is now being revised to "well over $100,000" put into the production.

And one is not being a stickler in any stretch of the imagination by pointing out the enormous range in difference between "almost $150K" and "well over $100K".

That is a tenS of thousands of dollars range. That is an enormous range of difference.

Slippery

Then there is the salary of $38K. That stretched to $45K. That legal court documents say is $60someodd K.

Slippery

Then the salary was 'never' a salary. It was (I forget what Mr. Lane called it when he advised the defendant not to word it as a salary. I'll try to locate the reference and come back here to edit it in)

Which now has been returned or replaced or whatEVer it's 'currently be called as of this posting.

Slippery

And there's the Garth thing:
Mr. Lane's 'He isn’t the same character, despite having the same name'
vs
The production website itself spelling out in great detail that Garth is exactly 'the' TOS character Garth

Slip-per-y

How do you think he's paying for the Discovery and court filings done by Erin Ranahan and W&S? Pro Bono means they're not billing him for any hours spent (that in itself might range anywhere from $250-$500 - so yes, he's saving a lot just by that) - but Filing Fees, photocopying of court records (and the court itself charges for that, and it ain't cheap) - all the costs associated with Discovery and Depositions (no they don't do video teleconferencing - nor do Court Reporters work for free to take or transcribe the Deposition testimony)...etc.
^^^
Yep, Backers/Pledgers can be 100% certain (no matter what Alec Peters claims) that funds are indeed being spent to cover these costs. W&S are not running a Tab here - I'm sure Alec Peters is paying up front for all the ancillary costs in this phase.

Alec has no earthly clue exactly how much money he siphoned off from the Axanar accounts, which is why he has hired 1701 accountants and STILL has to create an "Independent Review Board" to straighten things out.

Who can't love this exquisite piece:
"These are the same people who claim I bought a first class ticket to London and charged it to donors. The fact is I got upgraded for free on the ticket I paid for myself because I bought cupcakes for the flight attendants. But CBS personnel were telling my friends this lie this past summer at Comic-Con."
The lawsuit must be a piece of cupcake for him then... :guffaw:

Like I say... "Where's the million dollars, Alec?"

No, at the time he took his salary and expenses, there was no "I paid into Axanar" yet. There was only officially declared salary and expenses, sourced from donor money.

A new tax year started and went partially through with the salary and expenses for himself and others continuing before this "I paid into Axanar" event even began.

For a long period, donor money was taken by Alec for salary and expenses and nothing else was going on. That exists, it was committed as exactly that and nothing else. It was stated in the Annual Report and public posts as exactly that, and presumably presented to the IRS as exactly that. It is not and never will be "disappeared" by a later action.

Maybe the judge likes pie.

This guy... he must get exhausted keeping track of all the lies and grudges.

I guess I just don't trust him with anything and why should anyone at this point? The best way to keep anyone from looking is if they believe the funds are gone, spend on a lot of useless renders, costumes, rent, payroll, the worlds largest greenscreen, court fees and Sushi.
The lawsuit will probably drive his production company into bankruptcy and he melts back into the woodwork, Who is going to care about him then?
