I think that's a little unfair. Can't someone just not enjoy the movies?

Of course people can just not enjoy the movies.

My previous comment however was not all inclusive, and it's absolutely undeniable that there are those who simply dislike the Abrams films or something like The Big Bang Theory simply because they are so popular.

A true trek fan will watch this twice and enjoy it, end of story.

Did anyone note that by putting forward his guidelines, Alec has publicly positioned himself to claim that those who did not follow him are to blame if the guidelines are harsher? He could even act magnanimously and say he fully understands why fan films wanted to purely go with the studios, but by not standing up to them, they failed to get the best deal...

Positioning and deflection. It's what he appears to have done for some time and now it's possibly all he's got left.

Well, Elder HIjol will weigh in here; "Elder", simply due to the fact that he is elder....

A Sports Fan is someone who likes Sports.
A Movie Fan is someone who likes Movies.
A Music Fan is someone who likes a Musical Artist or Genre.

Isn't a Star Trek Fan simply someone who likes Star Trek???

Fun little back-and-forth happening on Twitter right now between Rob Burnett and Dave Galanter. Here's my favorite part of the exchange:

So apparently a term for any fact you wish was not true is "chestnut". I wonder what would happen if I tried to use that in real life?

POLICE OFFICER: You can't do 85mph in a school zone.
ME: That old chestnut?

Sorry if I misunderstood the post. Steve Roby was responding to specific criticisms he'd read in this thread, and then that fed into your post about popularity being a reason people don't care for them. I made that comment because I don't think anyone in the thread fits that theory.

Warped9 loathes JJ Trek to the marrow of his bones, but I don't think it's because it's popular. He also hates TNG, DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise (which collectively make up most of the franchise).

In any case, doesn't matter! I'm wasting brain power that could be used to develop new quips about AP.

The best response for that would be to Tweet loads of quotes from the Axanar script, which from what I've heard, does not have the best plotting.

If you're staring down the double barreled CBS/Paramount shotgun, you'd say some crazy stuff, too
