CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

Well, I for one had been waiting these months for Audioholics to check in. I'm hoping Tomshardware.com weighs in soon.

Seriously it seems like the audioholics author might be flying solo on this, it's not linked on their editorial page.

...and as the author of it admitted.

Laughable that someone would come here asking people to share that crap simply to boost hits to their tech review blog.
You guys are quite an amusing little bunch. If I wanted to increase the traffic of my site I'd go to Slashdot or Digitaltrends to share the article, not a forum like this that doesn't even have 1/10th our traffic. I came here to share with fellow Star Trek fans and to flesh out any possible errors before publishing.

Instead I got a bunch of Paramount/CBS groupies that living in their moms basement suffering from hurtfeelioma.

I appreciate the feedback and hate but there is no reason for me to continue at this snakepit. Live long and prosper.

If your concerned about 'errors' please remove the entire thing as 90% is either factually inaccurate and the remaining 10% ridiculous BS. If this type of attitude extends to the audio equipment articles/reviews as well - you guys might as well save the bandwidth, domain name, and server hosting costs because the 'information' on that site would be worthless to consumers.

I hope Willy didn't get all tied into a knot.

Again, I'm still waiting for the "factual errors" that a few people on here are claiming without specifics.

Article key points:
  • J.J. Star Trek made lots of money: check
  • J.J Star Trek has dumbed down recycled plots to please the masses: check
  • Axanar is a fanfunded film, and Alec Peters claims to be applying for 501c status: check
  • CBS/Paramount is suing Axanar Productions over Copyright infringement: check
  • The author thinks this sucks as badly as the whole J.J. Trek Universe: check

That's quality journalism right there.

You're a journalist, grow thicker skin.

Is this a personal issue for you? If not why are you writing an editorial on it? I don't see any other pop-culture editorials on your audio site.

When Michael Hinman wrote what I thought was a bad article, I called him out on it on a facebook group that he moderates. bad journalism is bad whether it's proaxanar or not.

You are entirely immature. You ask us to recommend your post and when we don't agree with you, you take your ball and go home. Ok, that's your choice. If we choose to give you our opinions, it's because of your inaccuracies. If you don't want to hear opinions other than yours, don't open yourself to them. You are not Star Trek fandom on your own, you represent a small (albeit vocal) minority. And, in light of the AP recent announcement, his fanbase is likely to shrink.
As stated by others here. CBS/P are the owners of Star Trek, and the sole arbiters of who gets to use it. Like it or not.
And BTW, ALSO as stated here, they are in the business to make money, and have the right to go after those who would steal from them.

Here's your main error: Axanar Productions is listed as a for profit corporation in the state of California, despite AP's future plans are.

Do not post something inviting review unless you are also prepared for criticism. Your opinion piece was poorly written, and the reception here is negative. This should tell you that you picked the wrong crowd to solicit advice from, and that perhaps you should take the time to revise the aforementioned poorly written opinion piece, or realize that it was not well received and move on. All you're doing right now is hurting yourself.

So I guess you could say his increasing ego scale is associated with a constant energy. Thus a massive particle with a fixed ego scale is associated with an energy that decreases with the scaling factor.
You know nothing of my Mother or if she indeed has a basement!

This is already clearly noted in the update:

*Note: Axanar Productions is NOT yet classified as non-profit, though Alec Peters previously claimed they were working on getting reinstated as a 501(C).
Reinstated? As in, "instated again after being de-instated"?

Since you chose this thread to post your article for review, did you think by the title it was pro-Axanar? If that's what you expected, sorry to disappoint. Aside from discussing the developing court case as details are released, for the most part we use this thread to express utter disbelief and disgust at the whole affair.

They never were a 501(c). How can they be reinstated as one?
Man you guys hang on every word and really can't seem to decipher meaning. "Reinstated" as in "reincorporated" or "refilled" as...

However, I changed to this to be ABSOLUTELY clear:

*Note: Axanar Productions is NOT yet filled as non-profit, though Alec Peters previously claimed they were working on getting classified as a 501(C).
