I'll amend my catchphrase:

Schoolyard bully politics.

Oh. But hey, this woman isn't a member here, right? So we can say whatever we please about her? That sucks.

But look up -- look at the posters who immediately spoke up and said "No. That is a wrong thing to do." I count ten people who immediately stood up and said "No. That is a wrong thing to do."

And that is a very very good thing. That is a 'right' thing to do. A good and right thing.

As soon as I post this.... I will add my own Like to stand 'with' them.

That's good. Kudos to Professor Zoom.

But this thread seems more interested in persecution and the spectacle than justice. And the rule about members as a special protected class still sucks.

Dear TF,

For the record, I have never "masturbated furiously", and I look absolutely dreadful in tin foil.

Nothin' But Love For ya',

One of the "Brain Damaged"
(Who, by the by, actually LIKES what he saw of the trailer, and wishes "Axanar" could actually get made - legally.)

P.S.

Don't underestimate the Tin Foil Crowd - "...a little thing called Area 51, m'Friend!" They Knew!

Been Lurking and Learning from you all, of late. Thank you for your excellent and Humerous Posts concerning the Lord of Infringement.

I have noticed, however, his behavior and decision choices keep getting more and more reckless and seemingly off the rails. "Surrealistic" did a fine job of describing this "Thing", back around page 680 or so, but we need a new word to describe the Axanations going on, now.

Trouble is, I'm not sure there is one!?!?

"Tin Foil" is just not my Color or Fabric.
Maybe a nice Opaque Obfuscation!
Yeah, that might look nice.

You do know you're breaking the 'post, not poster' rule right now, right? The one that you're whining should be enforced more broadly and harshly?

Come to think of it, maybe that's the real why you don't like the rule.

But why does Axanar need a colocated server? Surely the traffic isn't so much that a webhost couldn't handle it?

GoDaddy have unlimited bandwidth plans...

That's the thing ... everyone is talking about huge sever loads for Axanar, but I don't see it.

Outside of the blog that Peters puts out I guess daily, there isn't much new to attract a lot of people back on a regular basis. As far as I know, there are no message boards there either — all the social media is done on Facebook.

They may get a lot of new traffic based on the media coverage, but even then, it's not so much that a typical everyday server can't handle. And a lot of it is bouncing traffic, I'm sure. With maybe a couple click throughs.

I'm just not seeing the need for all they have. Even at SyFy Portal's peak in 2008 and 2009, we had a dedicated server, but we didn't need the server load Axanar claims. And our traffic was pretty high then.

I think the question is whether they host Prelude on their servers anywhere for streaming. I didn't think they did, but I may be wrong.

Is it possible to do a trace for Prelude to Axanar *before* it was put out on youtube?

Maybe its a British thing but I thought that was funny...

Thank you, at least somebody gets it...

As far as I see it, it is entirely possible that Diana 2 is one of the does. Certainly, she is giving aid and comfort to the Axanar team with active participation by herself - makes her fair game

Aid and comfort? They're making an illicit Star Trek fan film, not breaking into a fortified bank. It's like getting back at the CEO by clubbing the kneecaps of his secretary. It's petty and uncalled for. Whatever you think of Peters and Co., leave the others out of it, especially those that are only trying to do their jobs without bothering anybody. Get some perspective, please.

Isn't normal good service for a server to be up something like 99.xxxx% of the time? As in, three days offline in a year is considered to be horrible performance?

Five nines used to be a gold standard, down a few minutes per year. I would think it would be hard to do at home. Who could rely on FIOS or cable to be up five nines without glitching?

Aid and comfort?
She is aiding in the production of the movie. The moment she makes one cup of coffee, thats her giving comfort.

Whatever you think of Peters, leave the people who work for him out of it, especially those that are only trying to do their jobs
Alec once described himself as the "daddy" of Star Trek fan films, and it is that to which I am referring to... What goes on in their private life is none of my concern

I tried to make the point a day ago on a different post that personal attacks not only are inappropriate, but also could put the thread at risk of criticism, if not legal action. Perhaps if more people make this point, it will be understood.

Agreed. What gets me is that she's not even doing anything. Yeah, Peters and a few others keep egging things on, but she's not even involved beyond helping in the office, and what she does regarding her own personal life is her business, and the discussion that has been insinuated above is not only salacious, but wholly unwarranted.

The strategy of calling everyone else in the world crap and denying every reasonable point has a limited shelf life. It seems now to be going a little off.
