Greg, I've followed your conversation over at Tobias' facebook page.
Man, you gave your best, found all the right words, tried to explain it objectively to Tobias and others... but they simply don't want to listen. It's even come to Trek BBS name calling. And HERE is the dark place...?

I can tell you: If this is a dark place, I'm happy to be a part of it, because I'm not be Blinded By The Light (or lens flare). There will be some bad awakening for some people in a few weeks or months, coupled with a headache...
while others might be saying "We told you so!". Sooner or later...
That's sweet of you to say regarding my FB interaction with Tobias. I've pretty much mastered leading horses to water, but I'm still unable to make them drink. And thanks for your comments on our Dark Place here. I take it all with a grain of salt. I know that the most vociferous complaints of the horrible trolls and terrible attitudes that exist here on this board came a couple of years ago from, well, "Loken" and his supporters. So this is just echoes of the same.

Dark place?

I like this place precisely because it is chock full of incredibly intelligent people (me excluded). I also like it because the people here don't just take things at face value. They question the heck out of stuff and dig for the truth.

If that makes this a dark place, then this is one of the darkest places on the internet.

Also, from another thread...

Re: "Yorktown: A Time to Heal" - Official thread for the Sulu fan film

Was in the studio last week with Stan Woo in LA. We did some more color correction on the footage, and it's looking very sharp. I also just did a podcast interview about Yorktown with Alec Peters and Robert Meyer Burnett, that will be posted in a few weeks.

Given the date it was posted, I wonder if he'd had this supposed discussion with CBS

Earth. Hitler. 1938.

Zoomie, you really need to see the humour in the original post

Don't mistake my replies as somehow how you have raised even a hackle with me.
And believe me, if I saw humor on the original post, I would have replied lol.

It's a pattern I see with your posts: I think you are reveling in the situation and the downfall. And sometimes, in your posts, you stoop to the same name calling and derision that you accuse Peters and the Axanar people of doing.

But, YMMV.

And please, don't call me Zoomie. Only my friends can call me Zoomie.

Yes, of course I am revelling in the downfall

Who is "Petters"?

All I know is that after the last few pages, I won't be able to watch Star Trek VI again with a straight face.
Good job guys. I think Axanar actually makes that story more interesting.
Now if only Boomer was a chameloniod

"That was not his knee - not everyone keeps their IP violations in the same place, Captain"

Because I find Mr Peters to be rude, arrogant and a complete and total toss pot. Not only is he a thief of somebody else's IP, but he has essentially stolen money off people by asking for donations for something that he has failed to produce.

Now, don't get me wrong, I actually like Prelude and the Vulcan scene - but Alec and the rest of the Axanar team have done wrong and need to be punished to the fullest extent of the law...

Anyway...

Did anybody know that Axanar has an entry on TV Tropes? The link is here Prelude to Axanar... What gave me giggles is when you hit the trivia button, it says

  • Screwed by the Lawyers: Axanar's 2015 yearly report incriminated producer Alec Peters for using funds donated to the project to pay himself a $38,000 salary and to fund the establishment of an unrelated movie studio. CBS Corporation promptly filed a lawsuit.
