Rod and STNV go way back, I remember when we all had diner together in Pasadena in 11 years ago this month. Rod, Trevor and his crew, Cawley and the NV crew (from 2005) and myself and my old crew. Even had Wil Weaton sitting near us hanging out with pretty girl he just met. Good times! (no sushi though )

The first complaint apparently was designed to get Axanar to settle. The next will be designed to erase it from existence, along with any chance Alec has of ever making a movie.

Whether he was in this to con people or just got in over his head once donations started flooding in, I think this confidence/bravado is a facade to cover his own butt - to maintain the illusion that he always intended to deliver what he promised

Apparently writers of The Best Star Trek Script ‏"Ever" will still be working on it each and every day to make it better during the filming of Axanar because Robert Meyer Burnett saw Bryan Singer did it on his professional independent Superman Returns fan film project.

That's right you Haters, Axanar is the Superman Returns of Star Trek.

So, what - in the same way Superman Returns was a remake of Richard Donner's 'Superman (1978)' - Axanar will be a remake of what? ST:TMP?

I assume his original intent was just to make the film. Correct me if I'm wrong, but over a million dollars raised for a fan film is pretty unprecedented. I don't think anyone, Alec included, could have anticipated that kind of money rolling in.
