Leaving aside the question of whether Axanar has replied, I wonder if it's usual that a defendant waits until the last day to reply?
Things I have personally dealt with YES. And many times the defendant's legal team will file electronically at about 445pm on the last day to keep the plaintiff from having anytime to reply till the next day......it is all a dance they do..........

That's not the TrekBBS saying it; that's the U.S. District Court for Central California saying it.
PACERmonitor shows no activity yesterday. How forgiving is the court likely to be on missing the deadline (in general, I mean; I know it will probably vary from judge to judge)?
