Which brings up a huge plot hole? Why didn't they use the warp 10 engine to get home, then just cure everyone?
For the life of me I don't see why so many hardcore fans wank over this so much. Is it only because it's set in the Prime Universe?
It's because it isn't anything like Star Trek Beyond or the other Abrams films, so they feel that automatically, it's better because it has no 'Pew! Pew!' despite it having more 'Pew! Pew! than the Abrams movies.

This may be one of those things that has already been brought up, but I noticed that after the credits on the back of the "Prelude to Axanar" Blu-ray package that it acknowledges that "Star Trek and all related marks, logos, and characters are owned by CBS...." It goes on to say that their production "are not endorsed or sponsored by or affiliated with CBS/Paramount pictures or the Star Trek franchise."
It astonishes me. It's just so obvious that NOBODY there must've known what they were doing on any level. Legally, they were all blithely setting out on a suicide mission from the start.

Because they had another couple of seasons to fill. Forgetting the magic of the week serves no other purpose than that.
But no. Transwarp Beaming and magic blood is the biggest sin the franchise has ever committed because it's supposed to evolve.

De Kelley hardly had Urban's muscular physique. I wouldn't say he was miscast, because his face is similar and his performance was good, but his bodybuilder look was definitely "off" compared to the Kelley's ultra-thin and frail look (which was true even back in TOS).

This is when my conspiracy theory part of the brain starts working. I wonder if they were trying to goad CBS to see how far they could push it, and then make the argument that Renegades, NV and Phase 2 never got this treatment, so why are they special?

Alec Peters seems to be a guy who got so his life so wrapped up in his all-encompassing project and promptly went insane. I've seen it happen with highly strung entrepreneurs as they get pulled into an unworkable start-up that requires 24/7/365 attention. They work their way into some kind of financial/legal 'gotterdammerung' berlin bunker catastrophe.
I mean this entire saga is virtually over it isn't it? We know what's gonna happen. It's just like watching a car crash slowly unfold and seeing just were the all shards of bodywork finally wind up.

I've heard of method acting, but, wow...
I think there's a solid possibility that the deadline passes without a response from Peters or Axanar.
