Is this the guy some people here are holding to high esteem?

Alec and his minion Terry were the ones who introduced hard-ons, circle jerks, and the like to the vocabulary of this discussion. Those types of sexual references were frequent insults hurled at Michael to which he was merely responding in kind in this cherry-picked example. Try again.

I said this on Facebook, but here we go: By Trek's time, human homosexuality should be boring. In a storyverse of cross-race/species dating, sex, and breeding, human-homosexuality should be pretty vanilla. So it shouldn't be treated as "Look how inclusive we are, we have a gay character!" it should be "This is Bob, he's my <whatever term you want to use>" and get next to zero reaction from the rest of the characters. It should race no more eyebrows than Tom and BeLanna or Chapel and Spock.

Pssst. Don't tell anyone, but I'm a Mo, too.

Umm, we know, Jody. There was no doubt. :D

One can be both. Unless you're saying that *I'm* also not a fan?

I've been a fan since 1971. I also run this place and write the news for it.

And I think Alec is a crook. A narcissistic crook. Like the Kardashians, I wish he'd just fade away.

You heard it here first ... T'Bonz is old!!! :D

And trust me, no one in their right mind would ever claim T'Bonz is not a fan. She absolutely is.

I started watching the reruns after school sometime around '71 as well. And I'm definitely not old. Just well seasoned. ;)

... this thread would be many thousands of posts shorter, there'd be no pro- and anti-Axanar facebook groups, no Axamonitor, no sea lions, etc. And all it would have taken is people behaving like mature and responsible adults. But that's not the reality we find ourselves in.
And no pie. :wah:

That can't be right. He was in "Journey to Babel", "Yesteryear", Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, "Sarek", "Unification I" and mentioned in "Unification II".

Plus, the character wasn't in Star Trek Into Darkness.
Oh, sorry about STID. Ah - per Memory Alpha, the 17 is appearances (8) plus references (9). My error. Thank you for catching that.

I started watching Star Trek first run on NBC in 1969 - I was 6 years old and "Elaan Of Troyius" was the first episode I saw and I've been hooked ever since...

So, if you all think T'Bonz is old... :ack:;)

BRAINDAMAGED
SPASTIC

are hardly words of a mature adult.

If you just joined, why does your account say "Joined: Nov 8, 2014"? It just seemed a little odd that you had an account for well over a year and only now have something to say .......

That is odd but again it's pretty clear that I have only started to post in the last week.

@bonesmccoy2014 Gotta ask you, when Alec Peters says Rob Burnett told him his script was the best Star Trek movie ever, and when he says that he's out to make a professional quality independent Star Trek feature, what is it that leads you to think it isn't Star Trek?
I'm really curious.

In reviewing my comments, perhaps you missed the part where I was describing the fact that the entire CBS v Axanar case shows that Axanar "is not Star Trek". The case would not appear if Axanar was part of "Star Trek".

The original point of my message was that there were tons of positive things going on with actual Star Trek projects from within CBS and Paramount.

I found it odd that a few loud voices were posting on multiple social media platforms negative commentary about CBS v. Axanar and intentionally timing those statements to coincide with support raising by those other projects.

He's trying to do something here to undermine something. Whether that be the reporters here, or our conversation, I'm not sure. But he will not succeed. We've done this for four and a half months without him. And we'll do it long after he gives up the fight.

Oh do tell.
What is the intent that you insinuate?
The allegation of "homophobia" is bizarre.
Between the pro-gay rants by the same individuals, I am clearly NOT the one pushing an agenda.

In the current media climate, I am merely advocating for the EXACT position of the American Academy of Pediatrics with respect to screen time and exposure of children to overt violence, sexuality, and language in film.

https://www.aap.org/en-us/advocacy-and-policy/aap-health-initiatives/Pages/Media-and-Children.aspx

And as to the charge of "homophobia", the charge itself is disgraceful. As a physician, I have treated people suffering from HIV and AIDS. I was at a major university medical center risking my own life while treating dying homosexual males BEFORE AIDS was even in the medical lexicon. So, to the irrational and rude person attempting more cyber bullying, you can put down your forked tongue and aim your venom in another direction.

Just a few loud voices? Huh. Given how many in here are posting, I swear it's a handful of loud voices, at least.

Let's recap what you've been told a dozen times.

The original point of my message was that there were tons of positive things going on with actual Star Trek projects from within CBS and Paramount.

1. We do talk about other things. A lot. Elsewhere.

I found it odd that a few loud voices were posting on multiple social media platforms negative commentary about CBS v. Axanar and intentionally timing those statements to coincide with support raising by those other projects.

2. The Axanar hoop-lah predates other projects 'support raising.' Theyve popped up whilst Axanar has been ongoing.

Hell, people were suss about Axanar long before Alec was actually sued. As our poor, closed, clusterfuck of an Axanar thread can attest.

Pro-gay rants...Clearly I'm not the one pushing the agenda....

An article advising parents to control their kids television habits. Not a recommendation relating to the creation of any actual content.

So the difference between 'Don't let your kids watch a show that's not suitable for them,' and 'Make the show suitable for children.'

Poor T'Bonz!

I first saw Trek in the UK on it's first run. If that translates to about 70-72 (can't remember which, I was 8 to 10 years old (I can't remember!).
I think 72 because I remember watching and would have been too you to rememeber in 1970.
