It does seem a little unseemly though.

Again, He took it upon himself. If I was in shoes, and only very loosely associated with a production, I would not do that. But that's Alec for you. I wonder if he would have taken NV awards to.

Alec is not part of out latest production. He came to our set for the first 3 days back in October 2013 and we gave him a Consulting Producer title for that episode. With out asking, Alec took it upon himself to take the reward on behalf of STR, and will give it us when he can. Nothing really nefarious about the situation IMO, as he was on the crew for that particular episode the award was given for. But to be clear again, Alec is not on the current STR team. Alec has also bee previous associated with STNV and some other productions, so nothing knew there.
Exactly... why focus on Captain Attention seeker's attention seeking, when there is actually nefarious things about this con we could talk about... Like how Axanar paid for the plaques.. or how he raised $500.00 in bootleg merchandise sales.. I mean donations....

To be somewhat fair to Peters, like EVERY convention has a ton of bootleg merchandise. Have you ever walked the floor? It's staggering the amount of material. So. He's not alone.

C'mon now. I mean, they've already spent tens of thousands of donor dollars to make all that swell infringing merchandise. What's the point if you can't then hike the price by 300% and go back to those very same donors and convince them to "donate" again for that very same merchandise? Gotta liquidate that product somehow while they still can. What could *possibly* seem nefarious about that…. *cough cough*

The best part is that thanks to the lawsuit you have a cast iron excuse for not sending the donors their promised "perks." :)

Sure. But if you are getting sued by CBS, wouldn't you go to great lengths to prevent being sued by, say, Universal Studios too? I guess not.

I'd like to think I wouldn't be sued in the first place.
Those shirts had already been available. This con wasn't the first time. I think, for a time, they were in their store... sorry, their DONOR store.
I think another member of this BBS sent a message to Universal about it, actually.

After Mr. "Me Me Peters' " last little dance with the devil, it occurs to me that the PTB are not just dealing with your run-of-the-mill Egoist. It almost seems like he is daring CBS and the 'Mount and anybody else that manufactures Dilithium, to come after him. And there is no way, no way Winston and Strawn would stay with Alack, The Regent of Recognition with the way he is behaving, unless they are usingg this "daring them to act " behavior as part of a legal strategy.

I think we are in for one hell of a wild ride.
