CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

Since they can't shoot Axanar right now. What is stoping Alec from renting the stages out to another production? It going to be a while before an actual trial, discovery alone will take a long time. In the mean time, what is to stop Alec from making money renting the studio? I don't see anything legally right now to prevent that.
Considering the fact that he has thrown every single other production under the bus, who would want to rent from him?

What would land closer to home is a Chtorr book. he's really not doing anything with that. ;)

But he's writing the last book ... it's coming ... it's really coming.

His ego is writing checks that his ass can't cash. (Or something like that.)

Could be any production not just Star Trek related. Business is business and there are many small production groups he could rent to.

That's true. I don't get the impression he spends much time "minding the store" so to speak - he seems to be more interested in maintaining the appearance of big time Hollywood type than he is in actually doing the work.

Saw an interesting bunch of posts on Twitter where some new fan (over about 24 hours) was warn down about Axanar's bad dealings and seems not to be a fan anymore but what struck out at me was that the guy thought Peters was a professional producer. Someone should tell him the truth.

I am so glad this stuff is happening, it's like an IV drip of traffic for the TBBS.

Did someone call for an IV??

"Dammit, Jim!...I'm a Doctor, not a CrowdFunder!"
"And where in Blazes is my Coffee?!?!"

Since the rent is paid off of the crowdfunding, to make a Star Trek movie, wouldn't renting it out constitute making a profit from the IP?

I can't believe he's using the crowdfunding money to pay rent on the studio. That just seems really wrong to me, especially if they aren't actually using it to film the movie. Rent and things like that should be totally separate from the funds gathered to produce the actual movie.
