CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

To clear the air, is it too late to ask him if he got paid on Prelude to Axanar?

Someone else can. I hate to bother people with questions unless I truly intend to do a story on it. And at the moment, I am not working on any story about who got paid or didn't get paid ... so sorry about that. :D

"They are billing themselves as the only professional independent Star Trek production, and you have to ask yourself, could anyone else get away with saying the same thing?" he asked. "Could Twentieth Century Fox come out and say they, too, are going to make an independent Star Trek product? No. They'd be sued faster than 'Axanar' was sued."
That is the elephant in the room conceptual distinction Alec Peters doesn't comprehend while being very nasty towards anyone questioning his crossing the line from an amateur fan film to a "professional" income generating film production using IP he's not entitled to. He just doesn't get it, his ego has exceeded his grasp and in the process he's rightfully being sued for his blatant IP violations.

That's cool. Loeb and Loeb can do the questioning for you.
I've no doubt Loeb & Loeb have lots of questions for Alec Peters. Questions AP doesn't want to answer, especially when his answers are recorded on an official court transcript. :D  (No wonder he wants to settle)

Personally, I think after he contradicts himself into a corner and runs out of people to throw under the bus, he'll blame everything on Boomer. Should make for some interesting reading. :guffaw:

From the same dude that called Star Trek Axanar "The best Star Trek movie script ever!".

fifty thousand tweets? twitter is only just 10 years old. Does anyone actually have that much interesting to say?

I'll give him this: it was exactly like The Mummy Returns smooshed together with both versions of Clash of the Titans.

Do we know if CBS / Paramount were granted an extension by the judge? Or are we otherwise expecting a reply tomorrow by those parties?

The plaintiffs filed a stipulation wherein the parties had agreed to a continuance to change the response due date to March 11, the reply due date to March 28, and the hearing to April 11. The reason given is that the plaintiffs' lead counsel (that's Jonathan Zavin) is currently working a trial in another matter. There is every reason for the judge to grant this more than reasonable request.

Note: if either side does a lot of stalling, then things could change. But trial lawyers are often busy, and the parties have agreed without a fuss. The judge does not want this motion granted on that kind of an easily surmountable issue.

Podcast is starting in about a half an hour. We will talk about this (and other things; we're rewatching the 50 best episodes as voted on by our listeners). Show notes/blog post from today will be up later and then the YouTube video will be up. Come and join us in the chat room and, as always, thanks for your kind support!

I wish I knew how to switch players ... I keep getting the opening playing every three minutes. And it's interrupting the live feed. I guess I'll go back to listening to the archived version ... :(

Click on any of the four icons below the player. I'm playing it fine in Winamp outside from the browser.

All that does is have me download a "playlist," which doesn't work on the player I click.

'Copy the link location' of the Winamp icon, open Winamp, go to 'File', scroll down to 'Play URL' then paste it in. Do the same process if you don't want to use Winamp.

That's way too much work for me to listen to something. :) Sorry, I'll just wait for the archived version like I normally do. I was actually up earlier on a Sunday morning, and was hoping to hear the show live. :)

It's a great show, so if you're not listening, then ...

I missed the first hour so I'll be listening to the complete show later on like you. I don't know what they talked about in the first hour but it looks like it was all about the motion to dismiss stuff.
