Just blogs without official credentials. Not like fan productions being sued for copyright infringement. Now they're trustworthy.

See what Alec did there. Not, "don't post because the content of those sites is wrong" or "because we want to censor the Axanar site", but "don't post because [irrelevant but true fact]". He relied on others to pile on to actually make the false statements to the fans, he just seeded its inevitable elaboration in a deniable way.

You know, in theory the echo chamber could be breached by buying an ad targeted at them, and loading it with links to info they should read. Not a GiveAwayYourLifebook participant myself, just sayin'...

I didn't realize this article was meant to be taken as news. I thought it was an opinion piece. What do I know?

Neil

only the literal words on the page; but how trustworthy are those wrt/ what the article contains? if you trusted your own mind's direct apprehension of the content presented to you, you'd be banned.

Well, Peters has decided he doesn't like 1701News, so I have feeling at this point unless they started posting articles about how Axanar is the greatest production in entertainment history, he's going to throw a fit every time they mention him or Axanar.

I'm going to post links relevant to this topic, unless Greg or Bonnie tell me otherwise. This thread is neutral territory to talk about all things relevant to the Axanar case, be it viewed as positive or negative.
No complaints from me.

As any actual developments slowed down after the extension, the board is filling up with more and more garbage during the wait. Just be mindful to post meaningful stuff, please. I'm watching--but mostly delighted that this board has gone on for 400 pages with very little in the way of ruffled feathers.

Please stay the (polite and passionate) course you all have charted.

Golly, thank you. And thanks to Charles Foster Kane (did you say it in Orson Welles's voice? Or at least Maurice LaMarche's? 'Cause I just did. Stop looking at me funny). :)

Seriously, we appreciate it.

So, Burnett directed and produced a lot of the special features for discs of the previous Trek TV shows.

You suppose he'll be invited to work on that kind of stuff for the new show? ;)

Personally I think it would be hilarious if the new show premise was:
"See the adventures of th Captain who's exploits were required reading when Captain James T. Kirk was a cadet at Starfleet Academy - Captain Garth of Izar."
^^^
Were this the case, I'm sure a certain someone's head would explode.

As for you original question: I think Mr. Burnett's chances of being tapped to work on any official CBS/Paramount Star Trek property are as good as Mr. David Gerrold's chances of being hired to write the pilot episode for the new Star Trek series due in january 2017. ;)

It does seem like he would've jumped ship at the first mention of a new TV series. He already had a relationship with CBS. I imagine that is gone now.
