In 2017, Erin secured a settlement on the eve of trial for a lifelong Star Trek fan, Alec Peters, and his small production company, Axanar, in a lawsuit brought by Paramount Pictures and CBS Studios. Plaintiffs had alleged that a 21-minute “mockumentary” fan film, “Prelude to Axanar,” which was distributed for free on the Internet, and defendants’ plans to produce a longer film, constituted copyright infringement of 50 separate Star Trek works. Plaintiffs claimed rights to countless elements, including the Klingon language and the “pointy ears” of the Vulcan species. The case was heavily covered in the media, including by Bloomberg, The Hollywood Reporter, The Washington Post, Fox and Law360.
Yeah, no. She's a Civil litigation lawyer. There have never been any Criminal charges filed against Axanar Productions and /or Alec Peters. If that had happened, she wouldn't be the one defending him. He'd either take a Public Defender (assuming he cried 'poverty'); or he would have engaged a good Criminal attorney. She actually may have done her best work as an attorney by keeping him out of jail for embezzlement. If he had kept going it could have gotten really ugly.
Huh uh, nope. My well over a year submersed in looking into everything about the defendant's history and personal actions I could locate and the legal matter that this, The Thread, was set up to discuss, as well as all the following actions by the defendant 'after' the settlement supports my conclusion that Shenanigans of some-to-multiple sorts are going on. . . again, and still.Does anyone really believe that AP just gave the patches and other merch away without any plan for compensation???
^^^ Me too. Nice one.I wonder if we can get 10 million people to down vote him.![]()

So it sounds like they will sell the Axanar stuff from the newsletter instead of online in an effort to get around the problems with the lawsuit. These people are such scam artists.
Not very good scam artists, apparently. So it sounds like they will sell the Axanar stuff from the newsletter instead of online in an effort to get around the problems with the lawsuit. These people are such scam artists.
AP spends his time renaming his failed "studio" over and over again while arguing with people online mixed in with hinky fly-by-night quick cash-grabs. Incoming sarcasm - it's what a mature honest adult does, amirite?I guess rocketworx and OWC studios were supposed to be the new con, but neither one have done a single thing.

That would entail actual work and from the looks of things the days of plentiful volunteers are long gone.He can't even finish the bridge set. Shoot... he can't even take the monitors out of the boxes to put them in the bridge set.
