Looks like they've been too busy entertaining guests to get any, you know, actual work done:
I mean... how great is it that they have that huge backlog of previous episodes to hold up anytime people criticize them for taking too long to --- oh.

So "for-profit" is an oxymoron? So Alec is building a business whose only ambition is to break even month-over-month so he can just pay for the operating costs? Did someone miss the microeconomics class in his MBA program? Did he miss the part where they discussed building a sustainable business? Oh, wait, he's a trained lawyer not an trained MBA.

Diana Mark I is a producer on Axanar. She was an associate producer on Prelude, and she's chiefly been handling the perk fulfillment (or at least half-assing her way through it.) She also went to all those cons with Alec, promoting the film in their Axanar Starfleet uniform, made regular updates on the blog about perk fulfillment, and was more than likely going to appear in the thing.
I'd say she's got as official a voice for the production as anyone over there.

Actually, for any Axanar fans reading this (and we know some of you do) that song is a good illustration of why your project has had difficulties. True, neither Betty Hulton nor Bert Reisfeld were using it (nor were Horst Winter nor Hans Lang) back in the mid 90s but Bjork couldnt claim royalties for the song because Law.

One thing we can count on - a settlement has not been agreed upon. If it had, no matter what NDA's were in place Alec wouldn't be able to help himself and would be shouting it from the rooftops.
Did anyone REALLY think that the suit was about to be dropped with a settlement entirely in Alec's favor?
I imagine Alec might have entertained the notion, along with a few of his more unbalanced fans.
So maybe 10 people tops.
Even if the settlement is not in his favor Alec will talk about it, discuss it, and attempt to spin the results and keep his financial supporters close by and compliant.
A settlement no matter the Axanar spin will not settle well (pun fully intended) with Alec.
Although, I can see the spin: Alec has done what he initially set out to do, create fan film guidelines with the cooperation of CBS and Paramount. Now Alec will focus on building Valkyrie Studios, formerly Ares Studios, to produce independent sci-fi films. First up, STAR WOLF: AXANAR, based on David Gerrold's book series.
