Better than that, the entire crew are sacrificed so that one wounded general can spend the rest of the war in a hospital bed

And, of course, Jonathan Lane can create an "in-universe" explanation as to why Tony Todd won't be appearing in Axanar Lite.

Can you imagine being so devoted that you will launch a $20,000 fan film campaign just so that casual fans won't discover that Alec's incompetence drove away one of the biggest Trek stars attached to the project?

Well, I can't be the one to criticize that. My story TIMELINES (shameless self-plug ... see second link below) explains why we never see Kirk/Spock/McCoy/etc in the Star Fleet Battles universe.

Yeah. Pretty empty.

Executive Summary:
Some “pew! pew!”
Some yelling with arbitrary bolding
Some hollow sacrifice
Some more yelling with more arbitrary bolding
The end.

That about covers it. I miss anything?

<shakes head> IF that's the full story, that's literally the lamest fanfilm "script" I can remember. There's no story. It's a fragment of a scene at best. To paraphrase an oft-misquoted line from Capote, "they're not writers. They're typists. Sweaty typists, with formless, eyeless, earless messages."

(If you don't want to watch the whole thing- the relevant sequence in the scene is at about 1 minute, 50 seconds in.)

Oh, and I liked the actual Anime version from SBY:2199 better, but I couldn't find a Youtube clip of it with subtitles. ;)

Someone should post that on Lane's page ;)

I'm still dubious that's the ending. There's no END balloon or anything.

I think there are probably thousands of stories about a conflict that had a scene that pretty much plays out like.
You'd think after all the bragging Johnathan could have come up with something that hadn't been done a thousand times before.
Hell, I'm playing The Witcher III and even it has a scene with one hero sacrificing himself so another character can get away from the bad guys.
