so what'll happen to interlude? will it
a) get made
b) not get made and the money refunded
c) not get made and lane keeps the money
d) not get made and alec keeps the money

Is GoFundMe like Kickstarter where you only get the money if the target is reached by the deadline?

Lack of evidence isn't evidence. We only know what we DID see them fire, and I don't recall anyone identifying what the ship-fired blasts were or that they were their only weapons.
True. Plus, the Enterprise series showed Klingons with photon or photonic torpedoes!:brickwall:

If I was a FASA pendant however (and I am! :) ), I'd say it's wrong, because in the FASA timeline, which Axanar is supposedly based on, the original D-7 doesn't have photon torpedoes!:sigh:;)

And I would say this argument is irrelevant, because Sgt_G has put his finger squarely on a part of the comic page that is not actually a problem.

The real problem is that Interlude, just like the other Axanar comics, is being written by someone who doesn't know how to write comics and being drawn by someone who thinks drawing comics is just about making the pictures pretty and putting them in sequence, and the result is a single page that does nothing to advance or even hint at a larger story. All that's happening is a Klingon ship firing on a Federation one, an action that can fit numerous different scenarios. All we have to go on is a blurb about the D-7 entering the war, which is supposed to sound ominous, but for those of us who aren't "FASA pedants," that blurb offers almost zero context and leaves us wondering, "Yeah, and?" And if this comic gets produced with the same lack of rapidity as the others, it may be months before we get page two and see any kind of narrative progression. Since there's no kind of real hook on this page, I can only imagine true Axophants wanting to be bothered waiting.

The problem is the entire page is boring, and shows no evidence the rest of the comic will get any better. Changing the details of what weapon the Klingons fired from where won't change that.

Nicely put.

If you look at Star Trek the Webcomic you'll see how every strip (typically 3 panels) moves the story along. A page full of drawing to show a torpedo hitting a ship isn't so much a comic as a storyboard.

I'll confess I only skimmed that without reading any of the dialogue, but the first three panels of that did more to move it's story along than the entire page of the Interlude comic.

{sigh} They have the Klingon firing a photon torpedo out of the main deflector dish. {sigh} Don't they know Klingon used Disruptors mounted on the front of the warp engine nacelles??
To be fair: that's where the Klingon D-7's fired their torps from in the Star Trek animated series as well as the Ktanga class ships in ST:TMP (and the same TMP recycled footage used for the Bridge simulation scene in STII:TWoK. :)

I don't care what they did in the movies or TNG+. If you go back and watch ST:TOS/TAS, you'll see that Klingon's are armed with Disruptors. They did --NOT-- have photons during that era!!!!

Um - yes they did. Go rewatch TAS "More Tribbles More Trouble". :)

Well, looks like Lord Biscuit has announced that they plan to shoot Axanar first weekend in October... beating Lane's filming date but there is still no money raised nor is their crownfunding platform even finished yet.

Hand up who thinks this is actually going to happen in october?

I'm a bit disappointed that the Pacific 201 guy is working under Alec Peters. With that mentor, it would explain why his own project is almost 4 years late with no end in sight and why he's also learned to not bother answering polite requests for updates at least on facebook while producing other content in the meantime. I fortunately only found out about modern trek fan films (besides those made in the 1980's/90's and distributed at cons on VHS) otherwise I'd be a backer of some of them; luckily for me, most of the biggest had already concluded funding when I rediscovered the genre.

Still here?? Oh good!!!

I'm still taking donations!

I am including 3 deleted scenes (which i have not filmed yet... but will today!. Wait, is that how it works?) in the final product.

I am still working on names, I was set on Axanar: Intercourse, but I seem to be getting some negative feed back for some reason, no idea why. Well , I'm sure something will come up.

Anyways donate today! Ax-for-money-anar.com!

Got to support Kenny if you want to get the really big minnows!

Alec is NO mentor (the blind leading the blind) , he has very little experience making fan films. Prelude was most all Gossett and many of the same crew working on Renegades. Alec went from selling costumes and props to a wannabe producer . He has already failed and made bad decisions. Remember, the first rule of a fan film producer is to actually make a god dam film, not procrastinate for over 4 years being a money black hole!

I will cheerfully donate all the money I can spare if the following conditions are met.

You demand to be addressed as Lord Gate Keeper.
Pay yourself a salary out of the donations you receive.
Merchandising tie-ins from I.P. you don't own.
You demand more stringent fan film guidelines.
Slag off towards anyone not heaping you with fanatical praise.
Endless empty promises and contradictory updates.
Oh, and carpet squares.

 :guffaw:
