Castlevania Rebirth on Wii

Downloaded a few Wii ware games earlier today, including this one. It's really fun. I love the 2d side-scrolling games like this. Megaman 10 is great as well.

If you're in for retro, you should pick up FF4: The After Years. The only problem is that to get the "full" game you're going to have to spend 40 bucks on all the episodes.

If you like Rebirth, then I'd also recommend Super Castlevania IV on the Virtual Console. Still the best game in the franchise IMO.

How difficult is that one vs. the NES games? Those are damned near impossible to beat, at least for me. One of the things I like about this "remake" is that it's got an "easy" setting for people like me who totally suck.

Castlevania 4 is one of my favorite games of all time. I think that it is easier than the NES games. In CV4 Simon can whip in 8 directions, which helps a alot. I dug my SNES out of the closet earlier this year, and with a little persistence, I was able to complete the game in two days. Some of the latter boss fights where kind of tricky but I was able to figure them out by watching some Youtube clips.

I would say the NES Castlevania games can be put into that catagory of NES games generally being notoriously difficult.

Castlevania is much like Metroid and The Legend of Zelda, with the SNES sequel being that much more forgiving in terms of difficulty.
