Casting Pike's Dr. Boyce

In STID, nuBoyce was mentioned (but not seen). He's in charge of Kirk's medical care after the death and revival via Khan's blood - you can just barely see Boyce's name on the monitors next to Kirk's hospital bed.
Oh and @Nerys Myk, I am TOTALLY loving the idea of Ken Jenkins as Piper....

And let me be clear, I didn't start this thread just because of a desire to see a one-time character from "The Cage" pop up in DSC. There were a lot of people we saw just in that one episode, and not all of them were important enough to be brought back.
Boyce may have only appeared once, but we learned enough about him just from that. It's obvious that Boyce is as good a friend to Pike as McCoy was to Kirk. And since we are apparently going to see Pike's arc play out over multiple episodes, I think it'd be fascinating to see their friendship again.
And like I said, DSC is already going to feature Number One (who, like Boyce, only appeared once), so...why not?

It would be cool if we found out Jose Tyler was Ash Tyler's brother, or at least a cousin, even though I know it's a damn common last name. Certainly another case of "small quadrant syndrome" but they could have given Ash any last name really, yet they chose to use a surname of a Pike-era Enterprise character.
