Casting for next season (spoilery)

http://tardisspoilers.blogspot.com/2010/07/arthur-darvill-gets-screen-credit.html

This first part is not too surprising:

Although its been speculated for a while now, and reported on by us, it has officially been confirmed to us that Arthur Darvill will be considered a full time companion from the Christmas special onwards, finally getting a screen credit for his role as Rory Williams.
But this part is:

...both companions will be travelling in the TARDIS at Christmas, with a third expected to join during series 6
Please oh please let this third companion be River!! :bolian:

Wouldn't alex be too expensive for more than a couple episodes?

No chance.

If this happens, we're two thirds of the way to the conclusion of Moffat's master plan: Coupling in Space.

Amy/Rory = Susan/Steve
Doctor/River = Patrick/Sally

This is inevitable.
I'll take Coupling over "OMG i mss Rose!:(" any fucking day of the week.
That goes double for me. I liked Rose, but sheesh, the Doctor has to move on. He always does. Doctor/River is far more believable than Doctor/Teenage Earth Girl.

And she names it........River song

Yeah, I've been thinking the same thing. :techman:

I think my head would asplode.
I think I would :barf:

Although... since both Amy and the Doctor were in the Pandorica, maybe some of his DNA was left behind and the restoration field impregnated Amy. Now THAT would be hilarious.

I think if this did happen I'd have to start ticking all those bring back RTD boxes :guffaw:

And obviously said baby grows up to be River Song, right? Just to keep in line with the rest of this nonsense :)

With all this in mind, will series 6 see, at last, 'The Sentence of Doom'?

Where. Is. This. Relationship. Going? Now there's a cliffhanger waiting to be made...

I do wonder if next season will be the last we see of River because I feel she will stay around for as long as Smith does. I still get the feeling she will somehow be the reason for the 11th Doctor's eventual demise because knowing he regenerates but not seeing it might make sense of the whole Library 2 parter where River met the 10th Doctor for the 1st and only time yet knew who he was and all of that, she assumed it was a later regeneration not an earlier one.

oh and I don't see Smith leaving for at least the end of his 3rd season because that was the contract length signed when he took the role.

i thought the moff / beeb had gotten smith to sign for FIVE years?!!

Could be, I heard 3 years...5 does seem an odd length for any actor to sign in Uk shows because it would leave Matt in a weak position if he wanted a rise in pay after a few years.
