Casting for next season (spoilery)

I would also like to see an alien/non-contemporary human companion join up rather than River...and hooray for Rory full-time! I really began to dig the character through the second half of the series...at the very least it is nice to break the new series mold of "Doctor plus one female companion"...

I've always liked Rory. He grew from a sad-sack boyfriend to a real person more quickly than Mickey did. Plus... he decked the Doctor. Has anyone ever, aside from Jackie, hauled off and belted the Doctor before?

River decked Ten.

It will be a challenge for Moffat to figure out how to do her "final" Doctor Who story justice, I think. How do you say goodbye to a character that doesn't know she's leaving? How do you create the proper sense of catharsis for the audience?

Professor River Song: Funny thing is, this means you've always known how I was going to die. All the time we've been together, you knew I was coming here. The last time I saw you- the real you, the future you, I mean- you turned up on my doorstep with a new haircut and a suit. You took me to Verilian to see the singing towers. What a night that was. The towers sang and you cried. You wouldn't tell me why, but I suppose you knew it was time. My time. Time to come to the Library. You even gave me your screwdriver. That should have been a clue. There's nothing you can do.

Since they're following through I think this will be Smith's greatest moment.

I'm just wondering how Rory fits in now. River only knew him as the plastic centurion in The Pandorica Bang. He's outside of her timestream so he shouldn't have forgotten him. Is he just not gonna be around when she is? Or does River just play the long game in pretending she doesn't know things from the Doctor's future.

Well, I'd prefer it if after they establish River getting put in the slammer, and changing everything for the Doctor, the next time we see her is a bit after the Byzantium. They're supposed to be meeting in the wrong order, after all, not reverse order.

I've never "squeed" in my life but if true, I'm quite happy. River has really grown on me and Alex Kingston is so beautiful. She was gorgeous in ER and though she's older she's still got it. The maturity just makes it even better for me. That aside, I enjoy her portrayal of the character and the growing chemistry she has with Matt Smith.

her adventures have taken place in reverse order for her.

pandorica bang is her earliest adventure, then flesh and angels the silence in the forest, which is her last.

so, she will meet Rory properly next time -presumbaly in an adventure set betwixt pandorica and weeping byzantium.

Only downside is Amy is going to seriously overshadowed once River comes on board.

So I'm guessing Amy and Rory will get written out toward the end of the series so that River can become the next full-time companion.

No chance.

If this happens, we're two thirds of the way to the conclusion of Moffat's master plan: Coupling in Space.

Amy/Rory = Susan/Steve
Doctor/River = Patrick/Sally

This is inevitable.

Hurrah so we can expect Gina Belman and Richard Coyle to be unveiled as guest stars soon then ;)

I seriously hope this is true. Recurring in season 32 and full-time in season 33. That's perfect in my book.

No chance.
