Hannah Murray will be Matt Smith's companion according to Dark Horizons.

Oh, wow!



Great news if true (the story doesn't look confirmed). Hannah was really good on Skins, my favorite character because the actress really gave some good layers to what could've been a cliched girl.

I hope she's spacy like Cassie. That'd be fun to see a companion who enjoys all of the wonder and is too loopy to take it all seriously. She'd actually have played off Tennant pretty well.

The source of this rumor would appear to be News of the World, so I'm not holding my breath. Apparently Murray has been mentioned a couple times in one of the speculation threads at Doctor Who Forum from which tabloid journalists routinely draw Who "spoilers." As always, there's some chance it's true, but I don't see any reason yet to take it seriously.

Also, that Dark Horizons article is an almost comic garbling of recent facts and rumors about the specials.

Well I've never seen her in anything so I can't really comment. Nice enough to look at in a generic blonde kinda way. Does seem strange that this hasn't been confirmed if true. The Beeb seems to admit to stuff the moment it leaks, which leads me to suspect this might not be kosher...

Claire Rushbrook has been signed on to play the mother; the daughter is still being cast but the producers are looking for someone aged 17/18 to play her. The younger daughter’s name is listed simply as “Phoenix”
