Carol Abramowitz -> age?

Hi guys.

I was wondering how old Carol is.

I just finished reading "Failsafe" by David Mack. On the last page, there's a paragraph I found a little odd: "Three decades of suppressed passion suddenly unleashed".

Was that referring to
1) only Carol's age
2) how long it's been since you know what
3) the two people's ages counted together?

If it's 2), then I am wondering how old that other person is. Both of them didn't strike me as 50+. And if that other person is in the mid-30s and she's mid-50s, than it's a cool step for two people being twenty years apart from each other.

(Sorry for the cryptic message referring to that other person but I didn't wanna given any plot details away.)

It's #2, and the other person in question is indeed younger than her.

I figured at the time I wrote the story that she had been suppressing her emotional desires since adolescence, which would have put her in her early to mid-40s by the time of Failsafe. Hawkins, I assumed, was either in his late 20s or very early 30s, based on the fact that Corsi felt he needed to "gain experience" for the good of his career.

Again, those were just my assumptions. Other evidence might clarify the matter later.

i was under the impression she was in her 40s as well, CF the SCE story with the amok holo-projector/computer

Thanks for the answer. I like that fact that they're about twenty years appart. As I haven't gotten past "Sargasso Sector", I'm looking forward to hearing more from those two.

I wrote Remembrance with the notion that she was in her 40s, too.
