According to one rumour, that is what the Ahsoka series is doing.I suppose they could use the World Between Worlds to show what happens if other choices are made (Legends timeline) and show that that timeline is much worse off for the Galaxy.

This isn't the fan fiction forum.
I find this scenario unbelievable on its face. If they didn't redo the prequels I don't see it with the Sequels.I know. Granted i was having a little fun with fan musing but I do think it's something to consider that Grogu is such a popular thing in Star Wars I don't see him being limited to just The Mandalorian. At some point people are going to want to know what he grows up to be so we will at some point see him in the future.
I also think of it like this. Lets say Disney wants to hire Edgar Wright to do a movie or movies. He has a great idea for movies or even a movie trilogy and it is set in what would be the Sequel time period. The catch is it would ruin most of the continuity in the sequel movies, yet the idea is so good they think they would make tons of money on doing it.
Do you really think they would be so protective of the sequel trilogy continuity or canon that they would reject something that would make them money and likely even make for better movies than what we got out of the sequels just to do what exactly? Respect the continuity and work of those who made those movies? I see that being a more tricky issue when it comes to undoing something done by George Lucas but I am not sure people are that into protecting the works of Abrams and Johnson and what they did for SW.

Not with Star Wars movies. But it has happened before.
People forget the sheer amount of animosity flung at the PT. If you believe it's possible more power to you. I don't see it occurring in Lucas' lifetime.Well that is true but then again those other things had their first reboots and retcons as well. It's kind of amazing it hasn't already happened. Hell I am surprised how long they have been going with the Prime Universe in Trek as well.
But it has happened before. Many Halloween and Terminator movies have been tossed out of the official continuity over the years. Like the last Terminator movie they made wanted to pretend all the other ones made after the second one never happened. John Connor doesn't turn into Christian Bale or even Nick Stahl. He ends up as a dead teen. Never to become the hero. At least with a multiverse which the angle I think they would go is they could keep it and ignore it as they see fit.
It is also possible, if going with my idea the Edgar Wright movies would be sold as elseworlds movies. Kind of like The Batman and Joker were sold at DC. But the thing is if they decide to keep making all of the newer stuff in the elseworlds they basically become the prime universe from the perspective of that is where all the new stuff is happening.

I mean, that's been an ongoing issue prior to the Disney acquisition. Lucas doesn't regard the OT the same way as fans and never will. He regards them, at best, as "unfinished," which is something I commonly see with artists. So, to him, the Special Edition is closer to what he wanted, and that's just his view. Secondarily, this newfound respect for the PT doesn't some how make up for the amount of hate Lucas took when the PT came out. Again, extremely violent rhetoric was used to describe what Lucas had done to Star Wars. This idea that some sort of pushback will cause LFL to give up on the ST is something that I think ignores the vast majority of LFL history. That's true though I think the thing that really pisses people off most is still not letting the original trilogy before the special editions come to Blu Ray and of course Han not shooting first. Still I do think some new respect in light of the Sequels has come back and even then the idea I think seems kind of disrespectful to erase anything he did while alive because he did start it all and everything.
Consider using spoiler tags.According to one rumour, that is what the Ahsoka series is doing.
The closest analogue in Star Wars would be the decanonization of the "Legends" EU. But yeah, they've never rebooted live action. Not with Star Wars movies.
Just think of it... House Palpatine and House Skywalker united by marriage. If they wanted Rey to he a skywalker then she should have married a Skywalker.
So where does the Christmas Special and the Ewok movies fall under canon I wonder. We know life day is now a thing for real but not sure about all the rest.
If Lucas had his way the Holiday Special would cease to exist. So where does the Christmas Special and the Ewok movies fall under canon I wonder. We know life day is now a thing for real but not sure about all the rest.
It never had a home media release. You needed to know someone who recorded it off the original broadcast.am guessing it was harder in the past to watch.
