If this thread has already been started, then let me apologize in advance lest I get flamed. On trekmovie.com, there was discussion earlier in the fall about a "Captain Worf" television series. Any one know what happened to Dorn's proposal to the studio?

thanks.

There's a thread in the Future of Trek subforum regarding this. General consensus - including some people with more inside information than I suspect we have - is that it isn't a thing that is really happening. Or at least that no real even preliminary progress has been made in it happening yet.

The script is probably sitting in a SoCal landfill.

In all seriousness, I just don't see it ever being made. Captain Worf is this decades Captain Sulu.

Y'know, I'd like to see a Captain Worf series.

I have nothing against the character or Michael Dorn. But after 250+ episodes, I've simply had enough of Worf (and Klingon honor) and hope to never see the character in another Star Trek episode/movie.

Well, it occurs to me that I've not yet seen DS9 all the way through. (But God willing, I'm about to...) so I might feel the same way as you once I'm done with my franchise marathon.

But seeing Worf pretending to be Captain of the Enterprise earlier in TNG intrigued me to the idea.

I don't think a Trek TV series where every idea the captain has is constantly shot down by his superiors at Starfleet Command and his senior staff would go over very well. Just lots of grumbling and glaring.

Weren't you the one, who pointed a gun, at the viewscreen and you tried to stun, the grinning image of Q, what were you trying to do, I seem to remember that was you ...

Mister Worf, don't get mad
You're the best Klingon we've ever had
But Mister Worf, you must see
We need a different kind of security
We're glad you're strong and brave
But we'd prefer a ... captain who fears the grave!
Our standards aren't that high
We only ask that we not die ...

On one hand, I wouldn't mind seeing a Klingon Star Trek series, but on the other hand I have to agree with BillJ. What are you going to show us about the character that we haven't seen before? I think interest would wane quickly, so, I have to go with no.

I think the way the character is being used in TrekLit right now is something I agree with a lot more then a captain Worf show. In TrekLit, he actually declined captaincy a while back, feeling that, even if Starfleet thinks he is up for it, he needs to learn more about command. As XO on the Enterprise, he can.
