Captain of the next Trek series

I think we can make everybody happy. Why not a straight-up comedy? I mean, not like GalaxyQuest, but like a Coen Bros. comedy where they don't get to be heroic in the end?

There is something to be said about this idea. While not a out and out comedy, there need to be a place in Star Trek for a little silly.

The follow on series after TOS took themselves so damned seriously.

It could work.
