Captain Marvel (2019)

Yeah, I just read the latest issue. Like you, I'm a bit muddle on just how old the kids were when the family went a traveling. Franklin was born near the dawn of the Marvel Age (way back 1968!!!!) Yet he was less than a decade old when they left???????
Actually, now that I think back on Jonathon Hickman's run, there was an issue about Franklin's birthday party. Now they never specified his age, but it was treated like a "milestone" birthday for the kid and I remember assuming that it was his tenth.

He spent how long as the angsty teenager Psi-Lord before his clock got wound back to how old?

Franklin might have lost a year or too, as he was 8 before he grew up overnight into Psi-Lord, lived three years, or Longer as Psi Lord in the present, living inside time with his father and out side time with his grand father, and then years later, when that shitty story was reversed, Franklin was still an 8 year old, with probably no memories of being Psi-Lord.

Psi-Lord is a shite codename, but still better than Tattletale, maybe?

Is that a callback to his days in Power Pack?

"Sigh"

Awful.

Franklin's superhero identity should have always been Master Fantastic.

I'm reading that a new trailer will drop tomorrow during halftime of tomorrow's Monday Night football game.

Nah, in Power Pack, he went by "Tattletale". Frank and Val now go by Powerhouse and Brainstorm respectively.

Brainstorm?

"Jesus."

Sue should nudge Valeria back towards "Marvel Girl" which is way less on the nose.

I'm a few issues behind.

My wife has been monopolising the PC watching My Little Pony, when I could be reading.

Wait...

(Google says) Brainstorming is about networking collective intelligence.

Is Valeria hijacking the brains of everyone around her, using their surplus processing power and unused storage space? And Val is such an arrogant shit, that she's telling everyone exactly what she is doing, in a way they are too dumb to understand?

Valeria may be making Franklin far less intelligent than he is supposed to be, by overusing his brain to amp up her own intellect, like an IQ Vampire, if he is the person that she spends the most time with all day long.

This is derived from when Rogue messed with her brain so she did have some kind of amnesia and the Brood experimented on her and powered her up. But without the FOX Properties they just combined it with the Kree accident that gave her the initial powers.

That is stretching so far its hilarious. They absolutely didn't think of either of those things when they wrote the script., Its coincidentally similar, maybe (although Carol wasn't brainwashed by Rogue or the other thing, and she certainly never worked for the Kree). Also, the Brood definitely didn't give her the Ms. Marvel powers, and this fake carol definitely doesn't have the Binary powers.

You're stretching the facts of the movie to match slightly similar things in the comics, which is more then anyone working on that movie has done.

I can see why it might be seen as a bad idea for Marvel to have their first solo woman title hero get her powers from a man.

Because there certainly seem to be a lot of female Kree in the scenes where they give her her powers in the trailer...

Also, if Wonder Woman has a man added to her backstory (I'm talking about Zeus, fyi) for no reason because of some asshole New 52 writer did it, Carol can keep the guy who is actually important to her backstory. But, again, this isn't really Carol or Ms/Captain Marvel, so in the end who gives a crap.

How can you be so sure?

She wasn't brainwashed by Rogue, but she did have amnesia thanks to her for a while.

When they said she was going to be the most powerful character, they were referencing her Binary days when she WAS that powerful.

WW always had the Greek Gods in her backstory though. One way or another. Plus they'd written themselves into a corner and needed some justification for her to pull Deus Ex Machina powers out of nowhere to beat Ares at the end.

Well, she's been beating ares with no godly powers in the comics for literally longer then I've been alive, so they definitely didn't need to make her a demi god.

Also, the female greek gods specifically were involved in her birth, a man not being involved was pretty explicitly the point for most of her existence.

New poster

A new trailer premieres tomorrow during Monday Night Football.

Well, its certainly the poster that movie deserves. I wish the movie wasn't dragging down Samuel L Jackson and Clark Gregg down with it, those two deserve better.

When the film turns out to be a roaring success, we'll all remember this post and have a good laugh.

Twilight was successful. Making money doesn't mean anything about the quality of a movie. Marvel basically can't have a financial flop at this point. The movie is an insult to the character, the fans and everyone that ever worked with the character, made by hacks that shouldn't be allowed to work as janitors on a Marvel movie, but since its Marvel it is guaranteed to make money at this point. Its coasting on the Marvel reputation, just like Spider-Man Homecoming and Ant-Man & The Wasp did (those movies both made Thor 2 look like The Avengers quality wise, but they made money).

Well, ok, maybe Gregg doesn't deserve better. Agents of SHIELD season 4.5 and 5 were offensively bad, so he probably deserves to have some shitty jobs. But, what can I say, I have a soft spot for Coulson, even now. I don't want to see Gregg in something so shit.

He'll just complain that we were brainwashed by the media to give the movie money no matter how it turned out.

I never accuse people of that. People have all kinds of tastes. I may think its bad taste, but its obviously their own opinions. I'm not like those idiots claiming that critics were paid to hate stuff like BvS, just like I don't think there was any conspiracy when people love shit like Spider-Man Homecoming.

It ensures there will be more movies like it.

Yeah, terrible movies that make money tend to get sequels. I figured that was obvious, and still says nothing about the quality of the movie. Captain Marvel will be one of the worst movies Marvel has ever made, probably THE worst, and will also probably get at least two sequels and a starring spot for its wooden actress in at least one Avengers movie. A lot of terrible things get to go on, while great stuff can frequently die early.

No. Your attempts to validate your opinion through tedious repetition do not make them remotely justified. The weight of counter point deems your opinion negligible.
