I "settled" for a replica of one of these chairs, made by the Madison Furniture Company, and used as the basis of "the conn". It was also seen in Star Trek's sister show, Mission Impossible. Advantage of having this chair in my home is I know what it is, but 99.99% of people will asume it's just a nice old mid-century modern chair. I did mount mine on a swivel / return base from a Chromcraft "Kagan" chair (as used on a couple eps), so it "moves like Shatner's".

I've watched that sequence a dozen times and never noticed that!
Desilu must've gotten a good deal on those Madison chairs that year!
