In one photo I saw on Facebook, Shatner had a US flag patch on his uniform. Shouldn't it be a Canadian flag instead?

Yes, probably. The NASA and ESA astronauts that flew to the ISS with Roscosmos weren’t flying Russian flags on their gear.

But this is not NASA or ESA or Roscosmos, it is Amazon Prime in Space, so I guess we don’t have to follow any traditions or rules.
