Yeah, right around "The Impossible Astronaut". I don't like that Doctor Who has transformed into the "River Song!" show. Who is River Song? Christ, who cares? Can we get back to Doctor Who?
If it was the River Song show, she would have been in 13 out of 13 episodes of this season. She is actually in 6 out of 13 episodes, and she features only minimally in 2 of those 6.
If "for a while" you mean forever, I think she is the worst character ever.
And Captain Jack would've made more sense in a good mans goes to war than every other one that turned up (WW2 fighters? Some Sontaran we had never seen? Space pirates?).

I would also love to see a Jack/River scene, and although I'm disappointed that Jack didn't get appear in "A Good Man Goes to War (stupid Miracle Day), it probably means that we got Madam Vastra and Jenny instead.
It's really a shame that we lacked Jack in “A Good Man Goes to War” only because of the filming of such terrible Torchwood season. But I agree Vastra+Jenny is a better option than him.
If Jack had been included in AGMGTW, he might have tried for a three-way with Vastra & Jenny.

Seriously, I would love to see this pairing. Jack would probably come on to this young guy in the tweed jacket, to which the Doctor would say: "Ahh Jack, you're still an impossible thing".
I dunno. I think it would be funnier if, somehow, the 11th Doctor just didn't do anything for Jack and the Doctor feels a bit miffed (in principle, anyway). I think it would be even funnier if he started putting the moves on Rory (maybe even thinking Rory is the Doctor).
But definately agreed that Jack & the 11th Doctor is a combination that we simply must have at some point!
I was only thinking today how cool it would be if Jack and River got together for an ep or two. All that charm and sass in the one place... the universe would explode!
