Captain America: Civil War - pre-release discussion, news, rumors, etc

No. It's a popular theory/rumor. That that's the biggest reason why Tony and Steve have a falling out. Because Tony wants Bucky brought to justice, while Steve believes he can't be held accountable for what he did as the Winter Soldier and will ofcourse always protect Bucky.

I read somewhere that Chris Evans commented on the script, saying that he, as Chris, is TeamTony, and believes Tony to be right. Didn't read an actual article saying that, just someone saying they read that. So not sure if that's true.

Has that been established in the movies?

It was heavily implied by Zola that Howard Stark was killed by Hydra. By Bucky specifically? No confirmation there.

It's implied in Zola's monologue of HYDRA's machinations during TWS. They show The Howard Stark and then Nick Fury.

Keep in mind, Bucky was HYDRA's master assassin, and he was dispatched to kill top priority targets; such as nuclear engineers being escorted by Black Widow, and the director of SHIELD himself. Also I believe Bucky is the one who killed JFK in the comics. I'm not sure though. It was another HYDRA plot to move the world the way they wanted.

I doubt Rhodey's gonna kick the bucket, so to say. I mean, the very first trailer would have already given that away if he does.

Personally, I think the most upsetting thing for the MCU would be if Steve died, at Tony's hand. I mean, here's mr. Stark who, ever since New York, has been obsessed with safe guarding the entire world from horrors from beyond our world, and the first death of the team would be because of him..... That would be something.

The Captain America films are far and away the only jewel in the crown of Marvel films, and certainly superior to any superhero production on TV.

RUMOR

Why Spider-man isn't in the advertising for "Civil War"

http://epicstream.com/news/The-Insa...-Banned-in-Captain-America-Civil-War-Trailers

“Part of the reasons of what was so secretive was that the deals were always lagging slightly behind how we were using the character” said the directors. “We were always in danger of upsetting the deal—there were still sensitive issues going on between the two studios that they needed to agree on. When we were casting Tom Holland, when we were screen-testing him for the movie there was a whole very involved kind of process that was under the radar and secretive, because of the fact that it was still a sensitive business issue.” They went on to highlight why they can’t discuss Spidey’s costume: “The reason why we still won’t talk about [the costume] is that Marvel and Sony still have to work out what uses they have for the character, on a promotional level, on a commercial level. There’s still complications as far as that goes that involves business deals.”

Noting that cinematerial.com has pulled all the poster variants they've been putting on public display online, citing a request of the rights-holders.

Short teasers of both teams. Check'em out.

Why do they go out of their way to show everyone's face under the mask, except War Machine?
I hadn't noticed that. It has been rumbling that Rhodey might die in Civil War. 1. To make the drama real for Tony. 2. Redundant character power set. Perhaps this is forshadowing.

Spider-man!

Well the cat's out of the bag. The general audience will know Spider-man's in it now.

The CGI looks a little rough on Spiderman so that might not be quite what he looks like in the film (the costume likely right but the cgi is a bit more polished).

Notice they have decided to giving him working eyes.

Underoos! LOL.
I love the Spidey suit. The eyes narrowing is a cool effect.
Love the trailer, this looks like it will be another good one.
The fact that they seem to be trying to imply with the trailers that Rhodey dies, makes me think he will end up being OK.
This one almost makes it look like Natasha might be working with Stark against her will.

Wonder Woman gets the shield reveal moment, now Spidey gets the shield reveal moment.

Marvel is totally copying DC. :D

Wow, pretty cool to finally see Spidey. I'm not totally sold on the costume yet (especially after they seemed to get it so completely right in the last movie), but I assume it'll grow on me over time.
